Imessage location sharing not working

Me and my friend are trying to share out locations. We both have fully updated Iphone 6's. We had it shared for a long time then I stopped being able to see hers and eventually she stopped being able to see mine. It just says "Location not available" . Sometimes I still get what town she is in and it often flashes for a second and shows me the location but never for more than a split second. How can we both fix this? It happens on both our phones.

I had this same problem. I turned off both my iPad and iPhone. Rebooted iPhone; turned off location sharing - rebooted again. Turned it on and turned on location sharing and it was working again.

I’m having the same problem. Anyone can see my location but I can not see theirs. It says “location not available” .

I am now on the 11.0 .3 and I am having trouble with My contacts location, same crap I’m beginning to think Apple Products are no longer for me .nothing but problems with this 5S

Hey I just got mine to work by going to Settings -> Apple ID (Tap your name at the top of the settings list)-> "Family Sharing" -> "Location Sharing" On. Hope this helps!
