Will screen protectors affect the sensitivity of the new iPhone 6S/6Splus screen?
I want to know if it would be worth it to by a screen protector or if it would diminish my phones screen features.

The best protection against screen breakage is a good shock-absorbing case rather than a screen protector. Something like the Otterbox line (example only, there are other good cases). You want a rubber bumper around the edge that extends over the edge of the screen, so if you drop it screen down the screen won't hit first.
Also, screen breakage isn't the worst thing that can happen. Apple can replace the screen in a store easily and quickly, and relatively inexpensively. See: iPhone Service Pricing - Apple Support
And if there's a good possibility that you might drop it (based, for example, on your work environment) consider adding AppleCare Plus for $99. A screen repair if you have it is only $29.
Hey, good morning! I had just barged into this thread to know whether protectors are needed and whether they affect performance of iPhones.
I guess people handle their mobiles in different ways. Some, like me and, I'm sure, Mr Lawrence Finch, who are careful about them, handle them gently. For guys like me there should be no need for protectors or cases.
If people are a bit rough in handling their mobiles, there are bound to be scratches.Keeping phones in the pocket along with sharp objects such as keys can result in scratches. Such people will need to go in for protectors.
I am still searching for the correct answer to my doubt: will a protector hamper the performance of my new iPhone SE!
As screen protector that's properly designed will not affect the sensitivity of the screen, which is capacitive, not pressure sensitive. However, a screen protector will not prevent breakage if you drop the phone. It will protect against scratches if you plan to put the phone in a pocket or purse with hard metal objects such as keys.
Thanks for your experience and knowledge based answer. Regarding 'protection' offered, is there any possibility of a 'protector' providing an accidentally dropped iPhone at least some protection against screen display damage?
I have this question also. I have always uses a screen shield on previous phones. A screen is subject to scratches no matter how scratch resistant Apple claims the 6S screen is. Can a screen protector such as the Zagg Invisible Shield be uses on these new phones without degrading the 3D touch function?

As no one here has used the new phones, there is no way to answer that. You'll need to wait until the phone is released and people have tried the experiment.

I have had 5 iPhones and 2 iPads over the course of 8 years. I have never had a screen protector on any of them. I have never had even one scratch on any of them. I abhor screen protectors and cases, and have never used either.
Thanks for your input on that Lawrence. Not using a screen shield may be what I will need to do if there is interference with the 3D touch feature.
NO, it does NOT cause any detectable issues that I can see. We have BOTH a 6S and 6SPLUS with Zagg glass shields and they do NOT seem to have any adverse effects SO FAR. I have not tested every single possible option, but so far so good. I doubt Apple would NOT make some sort of statement that shields are BAD, if in fact they were. They just wouldn't do it...
it depends on screen protector quality, there are some screen protectors for iPhone 6/6+ which also supports 6s/6s+, below are some good full coverage screen protectors that support 3d touch.
1.cinder 0.2mm curved edge-edge gorilla glass 4 screen protector
2.daswise 0.3mm tempered Glass Protectors with Curved Edge, Cover Edge-to-Edge.
3.Imos 0.55mm curved gorilla glass edge-edge screen protector
Well i have a iphone 6s plus with a griffin survivor all terrain on it coupled with a zagg invisishield underneath and i can honestly say , i does not affect touch sensitivity at all

No matter how I look, and under whatever lighting conditions, I see no scratches on my phone, which is a year old. And I've never seen any on any of my 4 other iPhones or 2 iPads.
I'm using iphone 6plus, recently there is problem in screen sensitivity, sometimes there is no response whatever you press, I found this happen after I updated the latest IOS. I finally remove the screen protector and it seems okay. Previously I thought I was using poor quality screen protector, I bought another one, but problem again. So the only solution is to remove screen protector. Hope this is software issue and can be resolved. I prefer using screen protector.
