Hello,
I purchased an iPhone 5c in September 2012. This week it has basically exploded. The battery has expanded and pushed it all to bits!
The issue is that it is out of warranty now. I wanted to know what I should do - surely this shouldn't happen!

Yes, sometimes lithium ion batteries expand as they age. Make an appointment at the Genius Bar at your local Apple Store. Or, use the Contact Us link at the bottom right of every page and make arrangements to send your phone to Apple.
