game center broken in ios 9

Anyone else seeing this? I saw this during the beta but in the last beta it would actually load eventually. But now it doesn't do anything. Just sits on the white screen. It works perfectly fine on my iPad Mini 3, though.

iPhone 5s, iOS 9

Same problem here, I can not open game center, I got a blank screen. In settings menu I can not access to game center settings either, it freezes.

It worked fine on IOS 8.4.1.

Game Center is still broken here. iPad Air 2 64gb Wifi using latest official iOS version.

I have stopped buying apps a few months ago because of this.

And still Apple does NOTHING. What a shameful company they've become. iOS used to be reliable, and since Jobs passed away it seems like they don't care anymore about quality.

Still an issue on iPhone 6 iOS 9.2.1. Game Center doesn't open (white screen) and Settings > Game Center freezes the iPhone.

I fixed it in one of these two ways:

  1. Close all running apps. Go into airplane mode. Power off the device. Power on the device. Open Settings > Game Center and log out of the Game Center (note Game Center settings are available this time). (I rebooted here and started over - twice - as logout didn't complete but I kept seeing a spinning wheel) Disable airplane mode and enable wifi. Log back into Game Center from Settings > Game Center.
  2. Open Settings > Facebook and disable access for Game Center. Reboot.

My guess is the second one will work but of course as it's fixed in my case, I can't tell.

Unfortunately the Facebook fix was only temporary for me.

What I have found is that while some games will simply not work if you have the bug, others will only get stuck at their loading screen or similar.

If you completely sign out of Game Center (using the Airplane method if you have trouble accessing the Game Center settings, but don't follow the last step and don't log back into Game Center) a lot of the games are able to then by-step the Game Center requirement and you can then play them.

For example Warhammer: Arcane Magic will not load the game if you are signed in to Game Center and you have the bug. But if you sign out of Game Center the game loads and plays fine.

I now stay permanently signed out of Game Center and can play all except for two games, whereas before I had a dozen games that would not work because of the bug.

Hope that helps some peeps.

PLEASE READ THIS POST!

I WILL EXPLAIN HOW TO FIX THE GAME CENTER (GC) APP / + THE SETTINGS OPTION

- It is NOT an Apple problem - but Apple can help to find a way to fix this -

Apple software used: iOS 9.3 - downgrade to iOS 8.X.X is NOT a good or necessary Option!

RELATED PROBLEMS:

1. Can't open GC directly

2. Can't open GC through settings (the page freezed at this point)

3. Used Airplane on >> closed alle apps in background >> restart >> go to settings, then GC and logged out over clicking on the Apple ID and then logged back in >> turned Airplane off >> BUT NO FUNCTION

=== SOLUTION ===

The problem is: Your backup is already full of games and data. The first thing GAME CENTER is always doing is to check your iCloud data amount and THEN showing your Apple ID where you can log in or out!

More Games = more data = more MB / GB used = very slow connection to GC (sometimes freezed)

1. Open SETTINGS and go to "iCloud" (over App Store & iTunes)

2. In iCloud go to "MEMORY", then "MANAGE MEMORY" and then click on your actual Backup.

3. DELETE ALL GAMES YOU DON'T PLAY AND DON'T WANT TO

4. Go back to the first page of iCloud (Settings >> iCloud)

5. MAKE A NEW BACKUP

6. If you check your new Backup you will see that all deleted games are gone. Now your iCloud isn't loading all the games like before and don't need so much time to start.

7. Close all apps in the background (Home + double click) and then restart. Wait 1 or 2 minutes.

Now your GC App should open without problems. It could take some time but it will work!

Better way to fix this is to create a second Apple ID - only for iCloud and GC. The other ID should manage "Face Time, iMessage, App Store & iTunes etc.)

Attached: 1 Picture where you can see your apps, which are already stored in iCloud. Delete all Apps you don't need and play anymore. Deleted games = more free space on iCloud = faster GC connection.
