game center broken in ios 9

– close all running apps

– go into airplane mode

– power off the device

– power on the device

– go to settings -> game center and log out of the game center. For me this was not previously accessible

– disable airplane mode and enable wifi

– log back into gamecenter from settings->game center

Worked for me.

Still broken in iOS 9.2.1

This "airplane mode" trick didn't work. Game Center is still not working, nor is it accessible through settings. (still freezes the settings app!)

iOS 9.2.1 did NOT fix the problem!

Add me to the list; I bought a new iPad for Xmas, and after a while the Game Center stopped working.
I tried the "airplane mode fix" several times without success; I am able to log out sometimes, but when I log in again GC freezes.

iOS 9.2 and 9.2.1 did not solve this.

I have *hundreds* of games installed in several folders (I work as a game designer), so I have no intention of reinstalling everything; *please* fix this!

well, GameCenter was working after I got a new phone

and has been working good for the past couple of months

on occasion I would have to reset the phone when gc froze but that wasnt too often

but as of this morning I can't get into gc at all on my phone

after multiple resets

still works great on the iPad and Mac

What is strange is that it never happened to me on the iPad or Mac - only on iPhone. Is restoring to a clean iOS 9.2.1 install a definite solution? Any recent progress on this with Apple Support?

My wife's iPhone 6S has had sooooo many issues with Game Center, she has lost so much of her games progress, we are ready to throw the iPhone 6S in the trash. iPhone 6S with any iOS 9 = . Apple

Still get the white screen. I even don't remember in wich version of iOS Game Center was broken. But it was long time ago and still no fix.

I don't wanna do factory reset on my phone every time the brake something. Poor quality control. Shame on Apple.

This is how I fixed it for my iPhone 6s Plus with iOS 9.2.1. No factory reset required. The only caveat I have is that it's only been about 2 weeks but I have zero recurrences of it.

• Place your device in airplane mode
• Power down and restart (no need to hard reboot)
• Go to Settings > Game Center
• Select your Apple ID and Sign Out
• Turn off airplane mode
• Wait 5-10s for carrier to pick back up
• Sign back in with your Apple ID

That's it.

I was unable to launch the GC app (white screen) or go into GC settings as outlined above (app hung) until I did this. For whatever reason, STARTING the phone while in airplane mode allows you to get into GC, where just doing it without a reboot failed each time.

Glad that worked for you! I tried this exactly and it didn't work - after restarting the Game Center settings do not load and Han the Settings app. I had to restore my phone from scratch (not load a backup on it).

i made a fresh restore to iOS 9.2.1 2 days ago without restoring my back up Gamecenter s working till now just as it should be..

AM afraid I restore from my iCloud backup & everything goes nuts again ..anyone else tried restoring from iCloud on iOS 9.2.1,please reply..

Same here. Gc freezes to white screen. No response in the settings.

Nah, it only helped once 😟 After trying to use it again, game center freezes and does not respond anymore. Unfortunately it does not fix it.

For game developer Game Center is no go, very unreliable thing, basically it can destroy your business if you rely on Game Center login.

What is even more surprising, that Apple completely ignores this issue - they generate so much revenue from games.
