game center broken in ios 9

Anyone else seeing this? I saw this during the beta but in the last beta it would actually load eventually. But now it doesn't do anything. Just sits on the white screen. It works perfectly fine on my iPad Mini 3, though.

iPhone 5s, iOS 9

Same problem here, I can not open game center, I got a blank screen. In settings menu I can not access to game center settings either, it freezes.

It worked fine on IOS 8.4.1.

I have to join the club of "not fixed" even with iOS 9.2

Sometimes it works, and sometimes no matter how many times I restart the device Game Center just won't start. This makes a big chunk of games that rely on connectivity to GC USELESS.

I sincerely hope Apple finds a fix for this other than doing a complete wipe of the phone, which I find preposterous of a fix.

Same here.

iOS 9.2, iPad Pro. Game Center is just a blank white page that never loads.

However on my old iPhone 5 with iOS 9.2 Game Center works fine.

Too bad for me that I dont play games on my phone but instead I bought a nice big iPad Pro for that and now I cant play games that need that stupid Game Center just to open.

Somebody, please shoot me if I ever buy another iPad for gaming.

Sorry for double post but this may help other people with this unresponsive Game Center problem.

I contacted Apple Support by phone (amazingly it was quite painless and quick).

The Apple support guy was extremely helpful and knowledgeable.

He suggested the problem in my case was a software conflict and not an issue with iOS 9.2 and so far it seems he was correct.

So I did a full backup onto my pc through iTunes first.

What I then had to do was reset my iPad back to factory settings with no added apps or games.

As a guide;

Connect to iTunes, connect iPad to the pc, hold Home and off switch on iPad together. Keep holding these two buttons (for a good 30 seconds in my case) until you finally see an iTunes icon with an image of the lightning cable appear on your iPad screen. Then follow the prompts in iTunes on the pc and then click "Restore".

In effect you are trying to get your iPad back to its pure original state, and with iOS 9.2.

Once that is done then check if Game Center was working, which in my case it was!

So while I now have the laborious task of reinstalling every game and app I have one by one and checking Game Center each time, it does mean that I will eventually find what app or game causes the issue with Game Center. (Although by using iTunes and having all my previous games and apps backed up means no bandwidth usage for me to do this).

If I do find out what app or game causes Game Center to stop responding I will post my findings here.

Hope this in some way helps others.

Now sorry for triple post. 😊

Just a warning.....you will probably lose your games previous saves doing this fix.

Though I am not sure that if you just restore from your original backup instead of reinstalling each game separately whether you will lose your saves or not.

Since iOS 9.0, saving games and their save files has been a nightmare, due to Apples new restrictive security measures not allowing utilities like iFunBox and iTools to no longer work. Grrrr

Unfortunately I could not pin down what caused Game Center to stop working.

After restoring my iPad to its original state and then slowly installing all my games and apps and checking if Game Center continued to work I have finally got my iPad back to having everything reinstalled and Game Center continues to work correctly.

So it remains a mystery what is causing the problem.

All I can add is that it seems a complete wiping of your iOS device and reinstall worked for me.

After reinstalling, did you restore from the previous backup?

I'm not too keen about losing all my gaming data.

The current Game Center situation seems to have deteriorated on my iPhone. It used to be that a quick reboot would allow temporary access to Game Center. Now, rebooting doesn't even work. I can't access Game Center from settings, or from the Game Center app...

I have not restored mine nor wiped it as there are quite a number of games that don't Sync to cloud or have a backup system and the information is all stored locally such as Landsliders where I have most characters so if I wipe, I will lose them. And if you backup via iTunes and restore it doesn't fix the issue apparently.

I am also missing out on a lot of achievements and stuff within games.

I am also running the beta ios and still no resolution.

it doesnt work on latest products either mine broke on ipad pro as well, i ended up biting the bullet and resetting back to factory and reloading my 8 pages of apps except for testflight and star wars which is what i loaded just before it broke. I lost all my landsliders characters and any save games that could not be backed up to the cloud. Inhad to do it as i couldnt play my favourite games at all that use gamecentre. Been a couple weeks and all ok so far.
