game center broken in ios 9

Anyone else seeing this? I saw this during the beta but in the last beta it would actually load eventually. But now it doesn't do anything. Just sits on the white screen. It works perfectly fine on my iPad Mini 3, though.

iPhone 5s, iOS 9

Same problem here, I can not open game center, I got a blank screen. In settings menu I can not access to game center settings either, it freezes.

It worked fine on IOS 8.4.1.

I have the blank Game Center screen. Some games are not working at all, some partially. I have the issues on my iPad Air, but not on my iPhone 6 (both iOS 9).

For instance, Asphalt 8 works except for online events and multiplayer (unable to connect). Vega Conflict is stuck on load screen. Spider-Man Unlimited works except for loading friends list.

Very very bad. I have so many Game center games backup on my iPhone and I don't know what game give the BLANK SCREEN in GAME Center... or may be all of them? .....

Who will have not so many games and try to make special backup via icloud without games and make recovery using this special backup?

I think nobody in Apple will solve this problem. It will be a user problem and the problem between user and developer of the game. But how developer of the game can change backup?

So, as I see, there will be no direct solution of this GAME CENTER PROBLEM.

Backtofunk, he told us before, that developers want to gather special tracers for that situation from your device?

In fact . did they gather tracers? How they gather it? I think only way to make trace if the application down and we have crash logs or there is way to make are tracers between game center and your phone or made internal trace in GAME CENTER equipment?

ahwm, good idea! If ipad also on IOS 9, please compare with iPhone.

From this list I had only "Clash of Clans" and "Soliter", But I have total 133 GAME CENTER GAMES in my GAME CENTER HISTORY.

Probably, but I am not sure old games, which you played in past and erased also can be a problematic if you don't delete GAME CENTER HISTORY of the game in Game Center, because may be not only backup is a reason of the problem, it can be also history of the game center, I don't know where apple it save.....

Hi everyone

Have the same issue on iPad Air 2. The upgrade to iOS9 went fine on iPhone 6 but on the iPad Air, the Game Center shows blank and selecting it in Settings just freeze the Settings app.

Had five contacts with Apple over the last three days. Three times via chat, then two consecutive senior support engineers over the phone.

Issue is now emerging at Apple and they start to take it seriously. After trying the usual (hard reboot, reset all settings, restore to iOS8 and re-upgrade, restore to blank iOS9 + load backup), it all failed and so got escalated to the senior guys who said the issue was incompatibility between iOS9 and "something" in my backup data... Indeed it makes sense because GameCenter loads fine under blank iOS9 and only starts failing when I put my backup back on (whether from iTunes of iOS).

Then they said:

"Problem is known and being examined. You have two options: #1 is to restore to blank iOS9 and DO NOT LOAD any backup for a few days until we work on the iCloud backup data and let you know when you can restore it (probably at the same time as a fix is issued) or #2 is to restore to your latest iOS8 full backup and wait for the fix to be issued before upgrading again to iOS9.

So there you have it.

A fix is coming and we have to decide whether we want to go back to iOS8 with our data, or stay on iOS9 but without our data, both until a fix is coming...

HTH.
Cheers.

I think I have an idea that could fix the GameCenter issue ....

As per our different individual attempts ... the only way to make Game Center work, is to restore to stock iOS 9 without the backup data ...

So If we backed up our data to iTunes, then restored to stock iOS 9; Game center will work ...

After that, we will need to restore only the important unique data through a 3rd part tool (forget about facebook and instagram data for example) ... I remember there is a software that can dig out the backup, I'm sure there is a way to copy the data back or generate a new backup (without the settings or configurations, just the important app data like games, SMS, phone log, ..etc, iCloud has the rest of contacts, calendar, mails and so on)

If anyone knows a way to do that, and test it ... I think it could fix our issue 😀

Starting with blank iOS9 ("blank" as in "no data", so "no backup restored", just "blank") is indeed the only way for those who have the issue.

Using 3rd party tool to restore individual pieces might work, but you can't restore everything that way (for instance, message history is lost).

Else you go back to iOS8 and wait for the fix. Or you just stay as is (with GameCenter failing) and just wait. Or you can also just shut it down :-)

Ok. So after two very frustrating days of messing with my stupid phone non-stop this is what I've learned:

Restarting, Resetting, and Restoring DO NOT solve the problem.
Trying to reinstall 8.4 hasn't worked on my phone. I keep getting an unknown error. Probably unrelated.

Deleting every game off of my phone, then restarting worked once. I was able to get game center to load after about five minutes. It then crashed when I tried to look at my friends list.

I was also able to get a game to open once after deleting all of my games and reinstalling just one.

Now we're back to the same spot we were yesterday. Game center won't load, settings won't load if I click game center, my game won't load. Super frustrated...

Hi, NinjaDeathStrike

No need to make restoring, restarting your iPhone, I already check it before.

For rollback to 8.4 don't forget to move you iPhone to DFU mode first with blank black screen without any iTunes wires! And only after that press only one button in iTunes which can press. "Recover".

And one I think important question: How many friends do you have in GAME CENTER? This question is to all of us. May be problem exists only if we have many friends?
