game center broken in ios 9

Anyone else seeing this? I saw this during the beta but in the last beta it would actually load eventually. But now it doesn't do anything. Just sits on the white screen. It works perfectly fine on my iPad Mini 3, though.

iPhone 5s, iOS 9

Same problem here, I can not open game center, I got a blank screen. In settings menu I can not access to game center settings either, it freezes.

It worked fine on IOS 8.4.1.

This is an issue with iOS 9, and the only way Apple will do anything is if this gets out.

I have an iPod and I did a clean install of iOS9. With any big version, I actually go through and factory reset the iPod and then do and upgrade. If that doesn't work, I put it into DFU mode and install it through iTunes.

Neither worked for me, even without restoring a backup. If I tried to open Game Center after setting it up line new, it took about 30 seconds. After restoring, I get a 10% chance it will open up after about 4 minutes.

A friend of mine who is on the 9.1 BETA never had this issue until over the weekend. His Game center then started having the same issue as us.

Now, It may not be the exact same but he has resolved his issue by doing the following.

Sign out of iCloud from the settings.

Check Game Center - His was now Working.

Sign back in to iCloud - GC Still working.

You need to do a back up before trying this as Signing out of iCloud removes things from your phone. They re apply to your phone when you sign back in though but a backup is there as a safety net.

I have not tried this yet as I am at work and have low Bandwidth. I also cant be sure if this is the same issue as it didn't happen upon upgrade and it is 9.1 BETA.

Is anyone able to try this at all to see if it works? I wont be able to try for around 10 hours.

Thanks.

I Did a iPhone backup on PC then restored the iOS 9 then back up (probably pointless but I did it) then I checked Icloud backup to on (again may have been pointless) then checked GC settings and turned off invites and nearby friends etc. Then I logged into GC after a delay and deleted some old games from the list. Reboot the phone. After this login was taking only 30 seconds approx Each time. Let me know if this helps you. I've yet to test the same method on my iPad.

Hello everyone,

I have done an iCloud backup (removing all data except for whatsapp and Line, so no Games were backed up to iCloud). Then I restored it.

Until now, I can access the Game Center (with delay yes), but I can access it now; where before it never reached to the actual page (GC settings or the GC app itself).

Until now, I have been testing the GC settings and GC App response time, and below is the statistics:

GC settings 1= 140 seconds

GC settings 2= 095 seconds

GC settings 3= 085 seconds

GC settings 4= 075 seconds

GC settings 5= 065 seconds

GC app 1= 120 seconds

GC app 2= 120 seconds

GC app 3= 173 seconds

GC app 4= 097 seconds

GC app 5= 90 seconds

It's not great, but better than nothing working at all ...

Note: I have no games installed right now ... I'll see later if installing Games will ruin the login

GC app=90 seconds and GC setting 5=65 seconds??? And you think it permissible for new modern IOS 9 on modern iPhone or Ipad?

Let's wait Apple solution, because according to Cyberic:

"Issue is now emerging at Apple and they start to take it seriously. After trying the usual (hard reboot, reset all settings, restore to iOS8 and re-upgrade, restore to blank iOS9 + load backup), it all failed and so got escalated to the senior guys who said the issue was incompatibility between iOS9 and "something" in my backup data... Indeed it makes sense because GameCenter loads fine under blank iOS9 and only starts failing when I put my backup back on (whether from iTunes of iOS).

Then they said:

"Problem is known and being examined. You have two options: #1 is to restore to blank iOS9 and DO NOT LOAD any backup for a few days until we work on the iCloud backup data and let you know when you can restore it (probably at the same time as a fix is issued) or #2 is to restore to your latest iOS8 full backup and wait for the fix to be issued before upgrading again to iOS9."

I don't think this is acceptable or problem solved ... but in comparison to have the (game center not login at all) vs (logs in after 2 mins), thats a progress ...

Apple needs to work on that OS issue and fix it with 9.0.1 or something ... I hope that would be sooner than later.

The two other options you provided aren't feasible for me ...

1-I can't start with blank iOS, since I have been using iPhone since 2009.

2-The last solid iOS 8 backup I have in iTunes is old and has a lot of missing data, I can't restore to that and lose a lot of data.

Note: you can't restore iOS 9 backup into iOS 8.x .. I tried that before.

So I'm stuck with the wait for OS patch.

Yep, did this the third time I restored to factory settings and then restored from a backup. Absolutely no help. I still can't load game center nor some of my most played games (some are on timed quests) and because itunes will not update on my computer, I've tried to uninstall and reinstall it, waited for a day and a half, only to have iTunes fail, so now i can't even go in and restore from my computer. I'm very frustrated with Apple right now.
