iOS 9 iCloud backup problem

Hello. I have a problem with my iCloud storage. After I updated my phone to iOS9 it said that I have no backups. Three minutes later it said that my latest backup was on 6/2/15 at 04:44 AM, but the storage is 5 GB (as I have it).

BACKUPS:

(Phone name): 0kb.

It's kinda weird... Before I updated my phone I had only 1.8 GB left. Is this a bug from them or did I really lose my backup? It doesn't show on the laptop either. Please help me! I'm a bit nervous... I tried to backup my phone and it said that there's not enough storage ...

Same problem on both iPad 3 and iPhone 6, since I have updated them to Public Beta 3 and GM respectively...last backups done running iOS 8.4.1 before updating them...really annoying, I hope it will be fixed soon!!

I Have partially solved in this way:

- delete every backup untill only the 0 kb baclup (the one you cannot delete) remain

- connect every device to itunes

- perform the backup on the computer locally

- when every backup finished you shoul found the backup on icloud

- after that you should be sble to perform further backups through wifi

hope this help!

I just got an iPad Air 2 from my wife for a birthday present, and that puppy has never backed up to iCloud. I have had it for about a month now.

I have tried to force a manual update, and when I check back six hours later, the iPad says simply the device has never been backed up.

This is particularly irksome, as a checkbook program I have relies on iCloud to synchronize my iPhone and iPad for this app.

I am mystified by the lack of outrage by this flaw in IOS9 (and IOS8 previously). Apple is more or less forcing everyone to using the iCloud service. Fair enough if iCloud worked. Understandable if there were a mass-email to users saying "Terribly sorry...we will get it sorted by XX date." But I have heard nothing from Apple on this.

Rather, the tone appears to be "No Big Deal, we will get around to it. Chill."

Meanwhile I have been castigating the app provider for its inability to synch my devices, when in reality, it is Apple/iCloud causing my problems.

What is going on here? How will we know when iCloud is working again? What is the accepted workaround? I don't mind manually backing up, IF the manual backup actually.... well.... backed something up, not just consume a lot of home WiFi bandwidth and electricity for six hours.

Well, here I am to join you guys here, as I am also the one who is having a backup problem with my iPad Air 2 after upgrading to IOS 9 😟 ... My backups shows 0 KB, but I have 37.8MB of documents/data to backup, so over 4.9GB should be FREE?! This is NOT the first time I have storage problem and I don't understand why Apple cannot sort this one out?! 😠 😕

Agree. I have long stopped using iCloud backup for months now from iPhone 5S to iPhone 6 to iPad 3...

Apple Service could only recommend deleting old backups and wait for hours as this process could take really long.

I have tried that and even kept it unlocked with a bright screen overnight plugged in and on wifi to ensure I meet the requirements for an iCloud backup and still no luck.

I think they have really stopped offering this service and is back to weekly or monthly backups via iTunes now.

I still don't know if I should just ask a refund for the 200Gb space I paid for and am storing hardly anything in iCloud.

Google Photos seem interesting though but does not work on iOS. Dropbox is highly recommended for files.

Since Calendar, Notes, Mail and Contacts are stored in the cloud on their own, iCloud backup is not really needed for this.

I think it will just be useful for restoring a lost or damaged iOS device. So if you use iTunes, you can survive without iCloud.

Given up and waiting for 3rd party alternatives...
