iOS 9 iCloud backup problem

Hello. I have a problem with my iCloud storage. After I updated my phone to iOS9 it said that I have no backups. Three minutes later it said that my latest backup was on 6/2/15 at 04:44 AM, but the storage is 5 GB (as I have it).

BACKUPS:

(Phone name): 0kb.

It's kinda weird... Before I updated my phone I had only 1.8 GB left. Is this a bug from them or did I really lose my backup? It doesn't show on the laptop either. Please help me! I'm a bit nervous... I tried to backup my phone and it said that there's not enough storage ...

Same problem on both iPad 3 and iPhone 6, since I have updated them to Public Beta 3 and GM respectively...last backups done running iOS 8.4.1 before updating them...really annoying, I hope it will be fixed soon!!

Hi everyone,

I called Apple Support yesterday and explained the situation to them. I told them about the discrepancy between available GB and total reported usage for backups. iCloud seemed to report the iPhone backup as part of the total storage used, but I couldn't see it listed as a backup.

After about 20 mins troubleshooting I was transferred to a senior support technician who cleared out the old/faulty iPhone backup, sign out and in of iCloud on the phone, restart etc.

The space was cleared and I was able to back up to iCloud again, although all apps were turned on as default backups. I had to turn off a number of them to back up to iCloud so the backup fit within the allowed 5GB storage.

I told the technician about this thread and confirmed with him that other users with this issue should also contact iCloud support for a manual deletion of their missing backup/iCloud space.

I'm having a similar issue. My latest backup is showing never. When I plug the device in, connect to wi fi, and click backup now it flashes as if it will start but then doesn't backup. Theres definitely something wrong and there needs to be a fix, QUICK! I CANNOT BACK UP TO MY COMPUTER ON ITUNES because I don't have enough space on my computer. Can I revert back to the old operating system? I tried calling tech support but that lead me here. Still no resolution.

Calling Apple Support fixed this for me. The support technician confirmed that anyone with the same issue can call them to have it resolved.

Before you call, check to see if your iCloud storage usage adds up to what it says is available. For me the issue was a difference in what was available vs. what was used (i.e. they didn't add up to 5gb).

The other problem I had was that all apps were turned on to back up to iCloud. After getting Apple to reset my storage, I had to go and turn off apps I didn't want backing up.

somehow i was about to try to switch off some apps from being backed up...

BUT BEFORE I COULD DO ANYTHING...

I checked Settings>iCould>Backup and then I see that my last back up was yesterday !!!!!

I did not do anything but just kept the Backup switch on even though for weeks it did no backups...

I am guessing if you have lots of apps and maybe the more basic 100Mips wifi speed... it will back itself up but just takes weeks.

For those in countries where wifi crawls, try zen with patience...

It works!!! Backup works!!!

even if you do nothing, just meditate after following all instructions and have some faith 🙂

I spent 2 hours with Apple support on October 10th. After doing everything including a complete restore on the iphone (backup locally to mac) I still cannot update to the iCloud as I did automatically (daily) prior to iOS9 upgrade. The "delete backup" that the Apple team tells mw to look for is not present. The rest of my family have no issues.
