CarPlay for Infiniti Vehicles

does anyone know when apple will be offering CarPlay for Infiniti cars? Or the ability to reply through the Infiniti InTouch system?

CarPlay requires hardware in the car, hardware that Infiniti must include in their cars. . If you are just using Bluetooth features, that is not CarPlay.


For Carplay your screen must look like the screen on Apple's website. Otherwise its just Infinit's equivalent of NissanConnect, and is unrelated to CarPlay.

While there may be limitations, its not directly related to CarPlay.


CarPlay is available to Car and electronic Manufacturers that want it. Ferrari has included it in its vehicles, and Pioneer, has made after market media centers you can install in your car that offer Carplay. Apple is not limiting Carplay release.

This is true.


In Apple's Bluetooth Accessory Design Guidelines, in regard to 2.2.3 Message Access Profile (MAP) [page 12 in the PDF linked below] it notes: "Every accessory that is compatible with an Apple product and supports MAP shall ... Not provide a user interface for sending messages. iOS devices do not support sending messages using MAP."
