iOS 9 drawing on notes not showing up

Hi,

open your notes app and just upgrade (beside icloud folder, maybe u must upgrade to newer IOS version first), draw mode will be appear in second.

I believe you can only draw notes and use the extra features (bulleted lists, etc) on notes that exist in the "On my iPhone" / "On my iPad" folder within the Notes app (I could be mistaken but this is how I'm seeing it). To access and use notes "On my iPhone" / "On my iPad":

1. Open the Notes app

2. At the top of the screen, tap the back arrow

3. Find "On my iPhone" / "On my iPad" in the list

4. Tap on "Notes" under the "On my iPhone" / "On my iPad" heading

5. Tap on the new note icon at the bottom-right

You can now tap the round + button which will reveal the additional features

I don't know if the new features can be added to old notes that already exist on the device unless you move those notes to the "On my iPhone" / "On my iPad" notes folder. I also did NOT update whatever the Notes app was wanting to update when it was first opened immediately after the iOS 9 update (I now forget what that even was).

Same problem. The drawing tool is present on my iPhone 5S but not on iPad mini 1.😕

... Yet Text enrichment functions are present on both.

upgraded both my iphone 6 and ipad mini 2 to ios9 and notes updated on both with the exception of on my ipad I cannot access the draw feature - the option isn't even visible. I can draw a note on my iphone and it shows up on my ipad but if I go to edit that same note on my ipad again still no drawing option...hope this gets fixed soon

I read it somewhere last night, just cannot remember exactly where it was. Maybe it was in the description of iOS 9 on the website, and then going to the bottom where all of the footnotes are about other things.

I had to go into settings on my iPad Mini 2, into the notes section, and then enable "On My iPad". After this I went back into Notes and the "On My iPad" folder showed up. Inside of this new folder I had all of the iOS 9 features for Notes.

I have just searched this and while it was loading, I tapped on the iCloud notes, rather than the other notes headings I have available. The little circle with the plus in it shows up in iCloud notes, but not the other ones. Don't know why it won't allow it in the other notes headings, but at least we can use it there...

I have an iPad Air 2 and an iPhone 5c. Updated both to ios9 asap after release. Did not then"upgrade" Notes app - if I recall correctly option to do this came up automatically when I first opened Notes after updating to ios9 - I didn't upgrade as I was also waiting for El Capitan on my Mac mini. Once I did Mac mini I went back to Notes app On iPad Air 2. There were Notes appearing as being in iCloud and on my device. Next to iCloud notes there was the option to upgrade. I did and the notes on my device have now gone. And I can now draw in notes. Not tried my iPhone 5c yet.

HI, i havent read every one elses posts but i believe its related to email adresses. I have two accounts in notes, one via my gmail account, which i have linked up correctly to update my notes on all devices, the other notes account is hooked up through my icloud email which of course also updates on all devices. When i use the one hooked up through icloud email adress i get all drawing facilities when i use the one linked through gmail i do not get drawing facilities.

Basicly, open the Notes, go to folders and you'll see the upgrade icon in the top right-hand corner. Select this upgrade icon and it will update your iPhone iPad to include the drawing tools.

It works now. But I had to enable the "on my iPhone" option in settingsunder the notes app, and then go to it in my notes app folders and make a new note there.(IN MY IPHONE) But I hope that doesn't mean it won't show up in my Yahoo notes Folder. That's the folder I use the most. I'd rather this not being relegated to just one type of folder.

Hey, I actually faced exact same problem but I managed to finally get the drawing tools when I deleted the Notes app and downloaded it once again off App Store, so you can try to see if that works for you as well. Hope this helps...

IT works on my iPhone but on the iPad the drawing icon doesn't even show up?

drawing tool is working on an iPad Air but not on iPhone 6 or an iPad Air 2.

Depends on what version of the iPad Mini you have. I have a first generation, and it is not present on that version.
