iOS 9 Safari clear history, save cookies

OK...

iPhone 5s

upgraded to iOS 9 without issue.

Safari issue

Prior to iOS 9 there was an option in Safari to clear browsing history from within the app itself.

This would clear the browsing history but leave the browser cookies untouched. This allowed website/forum logins to remain in place so when I was able to re-open the webpage and not have to re-enter my name/password each time.

Now with iOS 9, the option to 'clear history' in the Safari app clears the history AS well as clearing the cookies/logins.

Admittedly, the passwords are saved on the phone and can be entered relatively quickly...but I didn't have to do this prior to the iOS 9 upgrade.

Is there no longer a way to just clear the browsing history and leaving the cookies/logins intact?

Cos it's obvious Apple does not give a crap. Every time they fix or update IOS, it's full of crap no one cares about, and at the same they ALWAYS screw up things that worked fine before the lastest update.

I only use Apple on my ipad2, which was free from Dish. Other than this free ipad I would never ever buy a Apple product, nor really care to ever use one again.

I had a iphone 3 years ago, and quickly realized it's not user friendly, nor could I do anything with other brand phones, like bluetoothing and sharing files.

Whenever Apple wakes up and realizes no one wants to be tied down to how Apple wants you to use their product, i.e., you can't share data with non apple products, I can't show my ipad screen on my tv (works fine with my Galaxy S5), Safari is about useless, a yr or so when I got this ipad Safari DID NOT log you out of everything. I could close Safai while logged into facebook, open Safari again and go right back to FB without having to log back in.

And whomever stated this, "when you clear history on any browser it logs you out of websites" is obviously smoking crack. I use Firefox on my desktop and the only time I get logged out of anything is when I tell the website to log me out!

Apple has released how many updates now while this Safari issue was first reported? I cn count at least 4 updates, yet Safari remains broken. That's all you need to know about Apple

Have just found that clicking the clear button at the bottom of the Bookmsrks, History list offers the option of clearing Today, yesterday, or all and this doesn't clear the passwords. A solution at last. No sure if it was there before update to ios9.1

I don't get this too. This still happens on iOS 9.2 and seems this tutorial (clear iPhone history)is the only one that works for me. With several clicks all my browsing history and caches were removed completed.
