ios9 wifi not working

Hello,

Since updating to iOS 9 I cannot connect to my work wifi. It keeps telling me the password is incorrect even though it is identical to my PC which is connected. I have an iPhone 5s 16gb. wifi at home works fine.

There are different connection issues reported on this thread, from office setups to 3g not working. Without additional diagnostic steps it would be difficult to resolve. My general recommendations for Wi-Fi issues (not cellular) are:

1) Upgrade to iOS 9. The Networking Routine was changed in iOS 9.

2) Perform a Forced Restart: Hold down the Home and Wake/Sleep buttons at the same time for about 15-20 seconds until the Apple logo appears. Allow device to restart.

3) Reset Network Settings: Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. Rejoin the Network again.

4) Change to Google's DNS: Settings > Wi-Fi > Click on the Network, Delete all numbers under DNS and enter 8.8.8.8 or alternatively 8.8.4.4

5) Reboot Router/Modem: Unplug from power for 2 minutes and plug again. Update Router Firmware (check manufacturer’s support website). Verify your router is Wi-Fi certified.

6) Determine if other Wi-Fi devices on network are working well (other iOS devices, Macs, PCs).

7) Try device at another Network, i.e., neighbors’, public coffee house, etc.

8) Restore the Device (ask for additional for details if desired).

9) Go to an Apple Store for hardware evaluation.

I updated two devices to iOS 9 yesterday - was having issues with iOS 8 but no longer with iOS 9. Good luck...

Interesting... The thread is entitled "ios9 wifi not working" and your first suggestion is "Upgrade to IOS 9." Also interesting that all of the remaining suggestions are those that got you upset when attempts were made to assist you with your IOS-8 problem.

Just an FYI. Since there are two issues being reported here:

  1. Personal Home Wi-Fi not connecting with iOS 9 with SSID being Hidden and
  2. TLS 1.2 for those enterprise/others using 802.1X.

Since I'm seeing #1 myself consistently, so for what it's worth (specific to #1 only), another user on a separate similar thread [http://discussions.apple.com/thread/7218964?start=0&tstart=0] reported today they he talked to Apple Support and the Sr. Support person was able to reproduce this issue first hand (not being able to connect to a hidden SSID), confirming it and promising to escalate it to engineering for further analysis. Hopefully, something good may come out of it.

so after some testnings at home, cheating separate SSID's for 2,4Ghz and 5Ghz.

I hade some general problems connecting to the 5Ghz AP, iOS9 complaind that IT was unable to connect! But after 5-6 retries it was finally connecting.

AP's tested has been Cisco and Meru ones, Will need some morse testings, as i'm now connected....

is there any good tool to diagnose / display WIFI info on iOS devices, such as BSSID, SSID, Signal strenght, Band/channel usage?

John, might want to consider Network Analyzer. The Lite version is free, the full version is $3.99. They both get good reviews. I have the Lite and it seems to do the trick...

I have the same issue. Kind of sick and tired of Apple by now. Every update is a major disaster. The only reason I keep my iPhone is that I've spent a fortune on apps and songs, but my patience is running low. If it goes on like this, I will take a deep breath and buy another brand.

Your call. Just watch out for Android's massive security flaws that have just been discovered. iOS9 working perfect here on all devices.

Goodbye and good Luck

For a limited time Apple will allow you to downgrade to the previous release. Hurry do not wait. This period lasts for at most a week.

See brownox second post here:
https://discussions.apple.com/thread/6545455
and

see what versions are allowed:

At the time of this post, you can downgrade to 8.4.1. Do not deal. Will not last forever.

I'm having the same issue. I did everything I could find on google to fix it. Everything from turning the wifi on and off, to Restore Network Settings, to completely erasing and restoring my iPod. I think there is just a really bad bug in iOS 9 and they need to fix it ASAP =/

I would start messing with my router, but the wifi is fine for everyone else in my family so I don't want to mess it up for them.
