ios9 wifi not working

I faced this problem with iPhone 6, But i've find the solution which made it work.
all you have to do is an iPhone restore via iTunes online the

Just find the GM version of iOS9 the "ipsw" file and dowload it.

Open iTunes and connect your iPhone and backup your data with apps

Disable find my iphone in your iCloud settings

And now go back to iTunes
Press the button "Restore" in your iTunes while pressing the button "Alt/Option" key in your mac. "I don't know which key for windows"

Now select the ispw file you've downloaded and leave your mobile to re-install the software. "Don't disconnect the phone even if it looked like it's done"
Now it finished the restoring, it will reboot and ask you to restore from backup do it.

Then it will load for a while depends on the amount of the data it will restore.
Now done.
will reboot and ask you for configuring the settings. configure your settings now you're done "Still don't disconnect your phone because now it's installing the apps" leave it till it's done from everything and then disconnect.
Now Wifi is working like charm (Y)

Hi, I have managed to connect on most of the old networks Which I worked on ios 8.

1. New wifi networks impossible,

but

2. Old ones

when you get into old network zone

- switch off iphone (in my case 6+)

- Turn On

- switch off celular data

- turn on wifi (since this bug is turning off wifi)

- select old wifi network

- you will get message .... Unable to connect

- repeat 2x

- third time it will connect

if you go out of know wifi zone and return back

have to do everything all over again

this is definately ios9 bug and has nothing do to with updating routers

I was able to resolve this by doing a hard reset of my airport base station.

I Have had the same problem at work only. Tried many of the solutions but found one that worked. It's kind of a pain but works. I connect my ipad to a personal hotspot using my iPhone (neither would connect to wifi after ios9). After the personal hotspot connection is made, I click on my work wifi and it connects. the personal hotspot disconnects but then I am able to connect my iPad and iPhone to the work wifi.

I understand what you're saying but, since I bought my first iPhone in 2008, my customer satisfaction has deteriorated quite significantly. I have paid around six hundred British Pounds for my current one, that's roughly a thousand dollars for you, and I have to face an endless string of problems I am reluctant to put up with in the given price range. From continual wifi issues to one thing or another going pear shaped with every single update, it's just one frustrating process that never stops. Plus I find iPhone 6 awful to look at and it simply does not have the quality feel previous models used to, even though that is no showstopper for me. The issues above might be.

So strange,

On our MERU corporate WIFI solution I'm unable to connect to the WIFI network and SSID for the Guest WIFI network on the 5GHz band using a iPhone 6 Plus phone after the iOS 9 upgrade.

Have tried to reset the phone network settings and other but it won't connect... no VPN or hidden SSID in use!

Guest WIFI is open and should bring you to the login portal, but I can't even connect to the WIFI AP's for unknown reason.

We just did try an iPhone 5 that was upgraded to iOS 9 and it works!

So now I'm wondering is it only the iPhone 6 + (Plus) that have this problem after the iOS 9 upgrade?

At home I had some issus connecting to the 5GHz band but it seems to work after like 3 connection attempts, however there it's a Cisco AP in use.

Any idea if there is an known bug / change of how the Phone connects/authenticate when connecting to WIFI access points?

(Have on tried to do a full factory reset of the iPhone yet...)

Anyone using the iPhone 6 + that have issues connecting to WIFI AP's using only 5GHz band (Not Mixed ones or 2,4GHz.)

So a possible workaround is to first connect to another WIFI AP and then switch to the Meru WIFI AP's.

Or maybe see if Meru has a solution for it. (Opening a ticket with them.)

There are a couple of issues in particular with Meru, but I'm sure that affect other Wifi providers.

Most importantly, hidden SSID's are causing the issue and the first advise is to broadcast your SSID (which I'm not willing to do at the moment).

In addition to this, the majority of problems are for customers using AP's that use Virtual Port (such as AP320s). The issue in particular is with parent beaconing, which needs to be disabled on all AP's individually. This can be scripted, and if so requires a reboot of the AP's after the script has been fired out. You also need to change the ESS profile to use Virtual Port - Till Association. This is suggested as a workaround until Apple correct the problem and release a 9.0.1 patch (hopefully).

Issues can also be experienced with Virtual Cell networks (such as with AP832's) again if the SSID is hidden. Generally in those cases leaving the device trying to connect for about an hour I've found eventually results in a successful connection which will then remain stable for the rest of the day. More of an annoyance than anything else this one. I'm still not prepared to unhide my SSID's quite yet though as i've only 4x IOS9 devices on the network at this time.

I had NO Internet connection, neither through wifi nor LTE. After trying all of this and more, I saw an article indicating that there had been some problems with VPNs under iOS 9. I deleted all VPN settings and the helper app, and the Internet suddenly began to work again. So.... if you have been using a VPN, you might want to include deleting those settings. Neither a "Reset all Data" nor a "Reset Network Settings" touched VPN settings.

Yep, software quality control seems to be at the lowest point for Apple since the late 1990s. I like the hardware, and if they could make it work, I would like the software. But there are far too many things that just NO NOT work. Very frustrating.

Bingo-your advice just got my Internet wi-fi as well as cellular data connection back! I had tried simply deleting my SurfEasy app that makes my phone look like it is in a different geographical location, but I still needed to turn off the VPN connection. Thanks again for the tip!

I experienced the exact same problem with all of my iOS devices after upgrading to iOS 9. To fix it you need to go into Settings > Cellular > then scroll wayyyy down to the bottom and TURN OFF Wifi assist! This is a new feature with iOS 9 and it seems to be causing all of the wifi connectivity issues. I actually figured this one out on my own haha. I'm a network administrator.

**** GUARANTEED FIX ******

go to settings > cellular > then scroll all the way to the very bottom and TURN OFF wifi assist. This will fix the issue guaranteed. Wifi assist is a new feature that comes with iOS 9 and it's causing all of the wifi connectivity issues.

If that is the fix then I (and the whole community) tip to hats to you.
