iOS 9/iTunes 12.3 not syncing app through devices

I've recently updated my IOS and ITUNES to the latest versions and when I sync my iphone is not syncing the apps automatically on my mac as it used to do before.

Is that a glitch of the new IOS?
Any easy solution to sort it out?

Payman_GH, your question has been asked and answered already. I would dare to say that the majority of owners never or very seldom use iTunes for iOS updates let along backups, syncing or transferring apps. Here is my quote from earlier in this thread in case you over looked it:

I just heard back from Apple via telephone. Case number: 940405219 Maraea Plassmeyer, iOS
Senior Advisor and she has informed me that unknown to her and the rest of us that t
ransferring purchases from devices with iOS 9 has been disabled by Apple as the apps are now downloaded to be device specific

Thanks for your reply and informing me about your phone conversation with Apple.

Since yesterday and knowing the cause of the issue by clarification made by you and other participants of this thread and considering this fact that we, at home, use a shared PC for backing up/syncing of our iOS devices, we decided not to update the apps directly on our devices ( in order to minimize the volume of downloads) and to update them only through iTunes. So yesterday I updated all the apps on iTunes and then everybody synced his/her device to iTunes. This way all new updates got transferred to the iOS devices without any problem.

I understand that the new APP Distribution Method may have some advantages for people owning just a single iOS device, but if you own more than one and have the same APP on different types of iOS device, then the new APP Distribution Method requires the user to download the same APP multiple times on his/her different iOS devices unless he/she updates the devices through the iTunes and by downloading general APP updates on iTunes first and then to updates the devices by iTunes.

Thank you once again.

Hi.

As far as I understood the sliced updates which are tailored for a specific device, at least for the time being, are being delivered just to the devices which are already upgraded to iOS 9.0. This justifies that what you have received on your devices running on iOS 8.4 must be general updates that you succeeded to transfer them to your other device running on iOS 9.0.

I really don't understand what mumbo jumbo you are talking about but to put it plainly, right now new and older apps that are on your devices can be updated on your device but once you try to sync a new app to iTunes they will not transfer and they pretty much don't exist. Many apps aren't yet compatible with 9.0 but that isn't an Apple issue.

Dear Sueilla,

I do not know which one of my posts is not clear for you.

Any how, here we are discussing about the new Methods of App's Distribution which has been put in force by Apple without any prior notification.

Since the new method was not notified, after upgrading to iOS 9.0 and facing problem with syncing to iTunes, many people including me thought that something must have gone wrong during upgrading to iOS 9.0 or there is a bug which prevents a clean updating to iTunes. Now it has been turned out that the Sync Issue is due to the new App Distribution Method using by Apple.

This new method may have some consequences for some users, as you can see many of them here on this thread, those who for instance may have a limited internet band width. The new method may cause some problems for such people.

Obviously we were not talking about compatibility of old apps with iOS 9.0. I hope it is now clear for you.

Have a nice time.

Actually, I think we are talking about a few issues here. I am speaking about apps unable to sync to iTunes. I'm not really adept at writing clearly what I'm trying to convey and may be coming across wrong but my experience since updating iTunes and iOS 9.0 has been a bit of a disaster. Many apps no longer work. Apps no longer appear in iTunes that do appear in my fully clean restored iPhone and iPad. I don't have wifi issues and wasn't addressing that issue. There isn't an answer yet except for some speculation on this thread. I'm hoping 9.1 again will clear up some of these issues as well as the new operating system for the Mac as well as 3rd party apps coming up to date. Apple tends to work with all systems working together and often release updates rhat aren't fully ready for prime time and, as usual, there seems to be some glitches at the moment.

pardon my ignorance in the subject.

Same issue here.

I understand what Apple is trying to do, which I believe is packaging apps specifically to a users device instead of having a universal app that is device agnostic. On the surface it's meant to reduce file sizes (which I don't believe there is a significant reduction if any), increase download speeds, and reduce bandwidth usage.

However there are a couple of important factors they did not consider:

  1. Folks with multiple iOS devices
  2. Folks who live in countries with poor internet service

I'm sure there are more factors that they didn't take into consideration but the above directly applies to me. My normal routine is to download updates to one device, sync it to my Mac and then transfer the updates to my other iOS devices. Not only does this save me a ton of time, it also reduces the amount of data I will have to use. When I was still in living in the United States, I probably would not care much about this change. But now that I reside in a 3rd world country with poor expensive internet this is the bane of my existence. As I type this, the apps in my iPhone 6 Plus are completely up to date and I have 30 apps to update on my iPhone 5S and iPad totaling over 4 GB in size.

Shoot me now!
