What is "My Card" in the Contacts app, and how do I correct it?

I have had an iTunes account for about 10 years now. Back then, both my wife and me shared music on our iPod devices. Now, we have iPhones and have switched to using Family Share (thanks Apple for seeing the light). However, I am noticing some "quirks". The primary one is that when using the contacts app, my wife's contact entry has "me" beside it (its not me). Now after updating to iOS9, at the top of my contacts, is my Wife's info with the caption "My Card" under it. Is there any way to correct this since my wife now has a separate iTunes account? Any suggestions would be helpful.

iPhone 6, iOS 8.1.1

Updated: Nothing "Happens" if your not in your own contact list, but it can be quite helpful. The purpose of creating a contact card for yourself is:

-Facilitate autofill of fields when your using Safari and such. Example, your ordering something online, Safari can auto populate information in fields such as Name, Ship To Address etc...

-Helps in identifying the owner of the phone if it is lost and not passcode locked.

-Allows you to easily share your contact information with people by sending them your contact card through a text message.

-Using Siri, will allow the program to refer to you by name.

The only quick way I could figure out to remove any connections to "My Info" is to delete the contact that it is currently pointing to. Then re create the contact card, if you leave it alone, it will just remain blank.
