Hi,
I have a 2016 VW Golf with a Discover Pro, multimedia and Navigation system, when I connect my phone using Carplay it works the first time but after disconnecting I always seem to have to reset on both ends to make it work again. I remove my car from Carplay and in the car I set the carplay settings back to default.
I'm using an iPhone 6 with iOS 9.

VW only started to deliver cars with app-connect (CarPlay, Mirrorlink and Android Auto) in the last couple of weeks so I'm fully aware that there is little out there at the moment.
Ask VW which versions of IOS their implementation supports
I found that re-connecting my phone using the USB cable while WLAN and Bluetooth on the phone are deactivated works better.
Still the whole experience is pretty poor.
Back to VW then ,however I suggest you take anything they say with a pinch of salt considering today's revelations

I find Apple maps adequate for my needs, but definitely needs improvement. I do like the phone and messages integration, but it could all be improved. I just want it to work reliably.
Same problem here and if you take it to VW's dealer is just a waste of time since it seems to be a software issue.
