As we all know that, First In all ios , we can find contacts using spotlight search. But in ios9 it not help us to find contacts using spotlight search feature. Yes it finds birthdates, events, messages and mails of that contact name which we searching but if these details not filled in any contact by us then we can't be able to search that contact using spotlight.

I have the same problem too! This is extremely annoying. I have already reported this bug at the first public beta and Apple didn't managed to fix this before the public release. I am not aware that Apple software quality is that disappointing.
Hope very soon we can get update about it....

Request to apple with using your mail id.
Apple will mail you with a request of diagnosis of our mobile.
Accept it. May be mobile will restart.
after half an hour problem will be solved.

Thanks man, but only two options I have is to call them or to contact my carrier.
Anyway I'll wait for some updates from Apple, maybe they read this stuff too.

Same problem. I solved it by shutting down all the spotlight switches in Preferences/General/Spotlight. Then restart the phone by pressing Home and Side buttons at the same time.
Finally, toggle on only the contact switch in spotlight. Wait for a few minutes and all the contacts must appear now.
Later, you can enable other searches if you want.
I hope this can solve the problem to anyone.
