iOS9 Spotlight search not finding contacts

very simple solution. Just open your contacts app once, and spotlight will start finding your contacts.

can't find this button - can you send a screenshot ?:)

Settings > General> Reset > Reset All Settings... No data is lost but you will have to reattach any picture that you have saved for background

Looks that I've found a solution, at least it worked for me:

With the Contacts app opened just launch Spotlight et voilá, now I'm able to find my contacts as I'm used to.

After that one can close the Contacts app and it works normally.

Well it worked for a bit then no results again.

this next solution is working so far

reset all settings in settings/genera/Reset

this will not delet any data.

This worked !

but then after awhile it didnt.

I had 2 accouts in ( settings/mail,contacts,calendars which showed synced contacts) (icloud and gmail)

when i disbled CONTACTS in icloud ,but kept contacts in gmail only,the contacts started appering again in spotlight serach results.

simmilarly i disabled Gmail contacts and kept icloud contacts and it worked again.

so i have kept gmail contacts only.it its working like a treat.I will wait for next update to ios 9

so my conclusion is that problem accours if you have 2 lots of contacts in settings/mail,contacts,calendars.

i have gmail and iCloud as well. Disabling one or the other worked for one day and now it doesn't work anymore.

IVe found a solution and its working for me for tge past 10 mins ... spotlight-> type"contacts" and your contact list will be shown click on it and open, exit from contact and take spotlight again type name of the person in ur contact list and thats it ......let me know if it worked for u

So basically none of those is an actual fix. All these ideas are hit and miss. If the work for a few hits or a day they'll stop working the next day.

I faced issue again with the above fix, Spotlight searches but it wont pull out all the numbers it kind of randomly selects numbers, called up customer care and they fixed the issue

1. settings - mail, contacts calendar - if you have setup your mail account select (my case its gmail) - enable contact

go back to
Settings - General- Reset- Reset all settings

now it its working perfectly fine 🙂 however my blue tooth setting is showing error its not recognizing my ford sync 😮 APPPLE 😮

Well let us know if this solution lasts. Lasted for 2 days then it broke again. I'm not resetting my phone every two days.

Ya.. Same here... Nothing Lasts for more than a day or two... Its a software bug and will be fixed only with an update.

9.0.1 is out. Let's see if it fixes it.

SEems to be fixed. But then again it was working on the first day of 9.0.

WoW looks like Apple is full of surprises!! This is my first apple device previously I was using samsung note 2 it was a wonderful device until it fell down and cracked its screen and then I decided to change to Apple just to find out why people are crazy about iphones and today while trying to search for the blue tooth fix found out that my phones serial number is included in the "iSight Camera Replacement Program for iPhone 6 Plus" 😮😮

NOT fixed on 9.0.1 😟
