Flashlight issues with iOS 9
I Noticed after the upgrade to iOS 9 that the flashlight icon is greyed out and won't let me use it. Does anyone know how to resolve this issue?

Close all apps, hard reset (power + home) then flashlight started working again for me.
u nailed it. fixed it for me. Thanks!
I Have had the same issue. I use my flashlight daily and it is frustrating to have to restart or power cycle my phone just to use the function. This has been happening since the last update. I hope they get this issue resolved soon.
I've had the same issue several times over the past 6 months. Reboot fixes it temporarily, but definitely a bug.
A Quicker fix is to hold the power button until you get the slide to power off. Instead of sliding to power off hold the home button until the icons appear again.
You should now have it working again
Worked! Thanks 🙂
Open the camera app and switching into and out of video mode seems to have made the operating system reinitialize the camera hardware which includes the flash. Might work for some of you too.
Thank you, this worked perfectly. It was quick and painless. I haven't heard of this process until now, how did you figure it out. And would it be the same thing as holding the home button and the power button until the apple symbol is shown? Is this the same Príncipe?
I believe this is a "respring", a way of restarting the "Springboard", which is the name of the program that runs the home screen of iOS. Typically you can only do this if your device is jailbroken, although this process is so fast that I wonder if it's actually a respring or something else. It's the same as restarting Finder on Mac OS X or restarting Explorer in Windows.
Thanks so much! It worked - I use it all the time
iPhone 6S iOS 9.3.1 and still the problem/bug is not fixed... Come on Apple! Please? (Thanks for the reboot and video hints from all you guys here at the forum!)
Same issue with me. I've tried factory resetting but still the issue persists. It is unpredictable, and the fixes above does not guarantee for me that the LED flash would turn on. Did someone tried to return it to Apple for the same issue?
Mine was doing this-- Genius Bar said it was a power mgmt issue and that the flash or camera can't be replaced and they gave me a new phone.
Good to here they replaced yours. we dont have genius bars here in our country though, and replacement or repair will be determined after 3 days of diagnosing. I am still hoping this is a software problem so that there will be no need to return or replace mine.
A simple Ram Reset will do the trick as well and takes a lot less time.
Simply hold down power button until you see slide to power off slider and then hold the home button until you are back at your home screen. Hope this helps and it takes a lot less time.
And same issue with me. Come on Apple.. please
