iOS9 Airdrop to Mac not working

Trying to connect iPhone 6+ iOS9 to 2013 iMac OS X 10.10.5 via Airdrop but not showing up on iMac or iPhone, worked perfectly before iOS 9.

iPhone can Airdrop to another iPhone and iMac can Airdrop to another Mac, but not iPhone to/from Mac.

iOS update was originally done OTA and have reinstalled through iTunes.

Have tried all suggestions I have come across but still they won't connect.

Anyone have similar problems?

iMac, OS X Yosemite (10.10.5), 21.5 in 2.9GHZ i5 16 GB

I had same problem between IPad Air and Macbook Air, Airdrop not working after update IOS 9 and OS X 10.11. I just made the new updates realeased IOS 9.1 and OS X 10.11.1 and now Airdrop is working well. As I did both updates together I do not know which update solved the problem. However it seems that Handoff is not working (I had this problem as well before this latest update. Hope this help

I lost bluetooth & airdrop between my iPhone 6 & iMac when IOS9 was released. I spent many hours on the phone to Apple who even though they screen shared etc & thoroughly checked all setting on everything & tried every possible fix could not get either working nor could they offer any solution. Gutted. I was told that 9.1 would fix - it didn't, i was told El Capitan would fix it - it didn't...I was told that 9.2 would fix this - it hasn't....well miffed off.

Annoying thing is I can airdrop other people when I'm out & about & I can't even transfer to my own iMac!!!!!!!

I have MBA Mid2012 - El Capitan with latest software update - and iPhone 5c and iPad Mini, both with latest OS.

Like so many other of the previous comments, I too could Airdrop between both IOS devices and my Mac with Yosemite installed - never with total consistency, but most times.

Since El Capitan, it just doesn't work.

I'm astonished that some people have said that since installing latest updates all works ok. How can that be ? Why not for all if it was a simple software bug that was fixed with an update ?

I find it staggering that a company like Apple cannot realise or do not acknowledge that there is a problem - a huge problem out there with Airdrop. Surely it's not beyond their vast and presumably capable resources to produce a fix quickly.

Oddly, whenever I Airdrop between my iPhone and iPad then the iPad appears on the MBA screen - just the iPad and NOT the iPhone - never !!

What on earth is going on !!!!!
