spotlight search iOS 9 contacts not showing in results

Problem is, I've had betas before and they suck. Honestly I'm considering going back to Blackberry.

Does anyone know if it's possible to sync Blackberry notes with macbook notes/calanders?

I have tried all the options mentioned above. But no luck as of now. I think Apple should check it and provide a fix ASAP. I have noticed that on few phones like iphone 6 it is working as expected. However, for me iphone 5s with ios 9.0.2 it is not working at all.

I have 5S with latest software update. Tried the suggestions and nothing worked until I went to Settings>Mail, Contacts, Cal and scrolled down to "Contactcts" where I noticed "import SIM Contacts" clicked on it waited a few seconds and then tried to search again and it worked much better!

Yes, some betas suck badly. This one for some reason does not. Not only that, it seems much faster than 9.0.2. In any case, the problem is solved for me at least for a while.

To everyone saying 'hey it's fixed' wait a couple of days and then get back to us.

The issue is intermittent so it's bound to come back unless today's iOS 9.1 release fixed it. No mention of that in the release notes so don't hold your breath.

ive been on 9.1 beta for a week and it's been working ever since. I don't understand all the pessimism.

I Upgraded to iOS 9.1. Searching for "Matt" finds about 10 people named Matt (though I annoyingly have to tap "Show more" to see more than the first three). Unfortunately, I have about 30 contacts named Matt.

Furthermore, in keeping with post-Jobs Apple UI design, Spotlight is NOT finding my two contacts named Matt who are marked as favorites. Heaven forbid that the machine actually let ME decide what I care about, rather relying on their cutesy, inaccurate, and so-far useless "smart" features that attempt to guess instead.

Yep. Same here. Shows 3 and then up to 10 max.

Let Apple choose what's good for you. They know best.

Reminds of the search in calendar. You can only search back one year. God forbid you need to search further than a year because you're out of luck.

Just installed iOS update 9.1 (FULL RELEASE, not beta)

Spotlight Search seems to be searching all of my contacts correctly now.

Hi All,

I had to add another account or enable an existing one in settings, mail for contacts. So enable contacts for another account. go back into contacts, see the groups option in the top right, select it, make sure iCloud is enabled and go back and searching in contacts for existing iCloud contacts should now work. You can remove from settings, mail the contacts for the additional group added if you don't want them. I added and exchange email account but a hotmail should work.

For me it was very simple and the thing that worked was

Go to contacts

Click on groups

Click on "show all contacts"

Did the trick for me hope it helps.

So after trying every fix listed I had no luck until the post about importing sim contacts from each account. I was able to do this for all 6 accounts and I am on 4 days of this working without a hitch.

9.1 finally solved my problem.
