spotlight search iOS 9 contacts not showing in results

Thanks. It's apparently not Google Contacts. I exported all contacts to iCloud, then synced only those contacts.

No go. It still does exactly the same thing - only show certain contacts while omitting others.

There is a new API for apps to interface to Spotlight. I wonder if the Contacts app itself has a bug when presenting info to Spotlight?

This bug slows me down a lot. iOS9 is proving itself to be pretty buggy. Bummer.

I don't want to use the 9.1 beta yet. May try it if all fails.

OK, so I use exchange for my contacts and this seemed to work.

Under Mail, Contacts, Calendars. Shut off contacts for Cloud and for Google and Exchange. This will delete those contacts. Turn on Exchange contacts and they will reload.

This seems to work for now for me.

Now i need to figure out the battery drain issue.

Why the **** is Apple not doing something about it?! #FAIL

Apple should solve this critical flaw. Wonder why there is not noise in the tech community regarding this.

Same problem. Tried all these fixes. Did the contacts "Group" thing that seems to have worked for a lot of you and have the current iOS version.

Agree this bug seems to make Spotlight nearly useless.

Hope it gets fixed soon. If this is an indexing issue, perhaps how do we manually reindex?

guys, I think it's impossible that it works for some of us and not for others. These are 0's and 1's. I had the problem in the beginning and fixed it by deleting my gmail contacts After I imported them to iCloud. This has to be another setting Bothering the process. Perhaps the sorting of contacts? I have tried to recreate the issue but have not been successful. I want to help but other than doing the contact-group thing and deleting gmail contacts, I have not done anything else. Spotlight has always worked on my wife's phone. Weird and thank God because I don't want to hear it From her, from you guys is Ok.

At this point, I'm pretty sure it's a bug in the Contacts app. I have forced it to rebuild the search items by switching between iCloud and Google (turn one off and delete all etc) and it still happens. I reported this problem and I hope it gets fixed.

Guys its fixed. Its working fine in 9.1 beta so if you cant wait till the official release just download it.

Hey Peeps problem solved on iphone 6 IOS 9.0.02. After unsuccessfully trying all previous suggested fixes (thank you 🙂),

I went to contacts groups and unchecked all groups except for icloud.

Worx perfect now,

No "groups" in the Contacts for me. I went through all of my contacts and kept only the ones I really needed.

Then deleted all contacts and chose iCloud for the contacts (with the streamlined new contacts). Exactly the same problem.

Will try 9.1. and see if it fixes anything. Somehow I doubt it.

OK installed 9.1 beta. Problem is gone with same data set. Everything works now. No need to do anything - it just started working.
