spotlight search iOS 9 contacts not showing in results

Just unbelievable. Where are the apple TI people? They seem to be on holiday

Having previously posted this problem to the APPLE DEVELOPER BUG REPORTING, today I received this response:

Nothing working for me and I'm on the latest operating system.

Nothing worked for me. Tried each of the workarounds. All eventually failed. Spotlight search works perfectly on iPad so far with no issues.

But it is really inconvenient on the iPhone because it is how I've quickly found contacts to phone or message in the previous operating system. To have it removed under the guise of "improvement or enhancement of spotlight search" is truly frustrating.

I Just went into top left of Contact app to Groups and disabled the iCloud section. Turned off all switches in spotlight search except for contacts and it now works. Turned on desired switches and all works now with iCloud contacts off

If it is a duplicate of Bug ID 22685912, can someone look up what 22685912 is and get a status update? Nothing in the 8 pages of this thread seems to work.

This worked like a charm. Thanks a lot. You are a lifesaver. Almost felt like throwing my phone because of this.

Very interested to know if and when this will be addressed. I've followed various tips to get contacts appearing again in Spotlight search only for them to disappear next time I use it. Hugely frustrating and an example of something that could not be further removed from the "It just works" mentality.

Do Apple analyse the data on these forums to see which issues get the most traffic to help them prioritise or is my comment adding no weight at all?

8 Days ago I upgraded to the 6s. My contacts were picked up like they always used to in the search. Today, without any changes and for no reason at all, the spotlight search is not working for my contacts... SO FRUSTRATING

Now It is working

I just entered the Contact app and searched for some contacts. From that moment Spotlight shows contacts again

That simple

I'm having the same issue. I have tried all the above and it still doesn't work.

I just want to search contact without hassle just like I was able to, and should be able to on an expensive smartphone. I have tried all the solutions listed here and none work. My old nokia could search contacts better that IOS 9. Is apple treating us as guinea pigs?

I have also tried many of the solutions here, sometimes it works for a day or so then back to the search issues. hoping Apple will fix on next update, this is getting ridiculous. I share the frustrations of others posting here. Very disappointed with Apple.

Yeah Apple is a big joke now in my opinion. I love their products but their quality of releasing OS and their general things that are missing is just...dumb.

Next update I'm waiting at least 2-3 months before upgrading.
