Recent upgrade to iOS 9 - Old videos taken in portrait mode show in landscape mode (crop/zoom in effect)

MY wife's 5s is having this problem as well. Any fix yet?

I Just checked my 6 plus. Same problem. Seems to be old videos.

My wife's iPhone 6 does the same thing. However, when you sync and download them to your computer, they are fine.

It's really weird. I have not been able to figure out a fix yet.

Same thing happed to my videos, I've been searching for a fix but have yet to find anything.

I have the same problem as well... seems like only very old videos affected... very annoying... when the video subject's head is being cropped off...

Has apple posted any knowledge alerts on this? Or is it just that most people don't look at older videos?

I have twins that turn 3 in December. Because of this glitch all of their first year baby photos or videos crop off their heads.

But - the actual video that has been Synched into Photos is intact and OK.

Apple please fix it!

My wife and I are seeing this on our iPhone 6's. Update 9.0.1 did not address this issue.

Any chance Apple will fix this in the next iOS release?

i'd say so if we complain more frequently and get others to chime in.

I only had a handful of videos that were affected. And here is what I did:

1. Plugin iPhone to computer, open 'Photos' and import those affected videos.

2. While in Photos, share the video and send it to yourself using iMessage.

3. Save the video to your phone, and this reverted to original portrait format.

I had this problem as well. 3 videos from back in 2012 (the 3 oldest ones on my phone) were affected. I just texted each one to myself in iMessage, and saved it from the text screen, and that seems to have fixed the problem. I deleted the old 'landscape' versions and now it's like it never happened.

I wonder if you're losing resolution doing that. I'm pretty sure videos sent over text are compressed to spare the data usage, although there may be a setting to send the uncompressed versions.
