How do I install directx in my windows 7 partition (to play games)

I went through the trouble of creating a partition and installing my copy of windows 7 onto it just to play 2 games that I used to play in a XP partition. They won't run anyway because, apparently I don't have directx installed. Does anybody know how to get around this?

Sorry to say, I'm not having much luck with this. My windows 7 does not recognize my airport wifi, so I can't use IE to visit the Microsoft site. I managed to download the directx installers to my Mac and then copied them over to a thumb drive, so Windows 7 could see them, but when I tried to run the installer, it wanted to go to the same Microsoft site to get the drivers (even though they are right in the folder next to the installer) and so the install failed.

How do I Repair the drivers? I don't see that as an option in Windows.

When I search Windows for directx, I can find many files, but don't see an option to repair those specifically.

Hi, you're right , my version of bootcamp won't install any version of windows less than 7. I have a iMac (Retina 5K,27-inch, Mid 2015). The graphics is AMDRadeon R9 Ms90 2048 MB.

I guess I'll go back to re-doing a Windows 7 partition, and then seeing if the directx problem can be resolved. BTW the games I would love to be able to play again are Supreme Commander (by FAR the best RTS ever made) and HoMM V (very fun). These both come with their own Directx installers, but they don't seem to work. After installing them and trying to run, SC reports "cannot create directx" and HoMM V just freezes at the initial splash screen.

I must thank you once again for trying to help me with this.

Sorry about the double post. Doesn't seem to be any way to delete it.
