Exchange email issues after iOS 9 update

I updated to iOS 9 and then iOS 9.01 this past week. After updating to iOS 9, I'm noticing my Exchange email is not functioning properly. For example, when I delete emails from my inbox it still shows I have unread messages in my inbox. However there aren't really any unread emails. The email icon doesn't display the number of "new" emails, but when you click on the icon it appears there are unread emails beside the inbox.

I have tried deleting and re-installing the Exchange account, and that works fine until I try to delete emails from my inbox from a non-work or non-home location. I have also tried to mark all emails as unread in my inbox, and then try to mark all as read to see if that corrects the problem but it doesn't.

Has anyone else noticed Exchange email issues after the update to iOS 9 and if so, please tell me how to correct. Thanks.

I think I may have found a solution to the problem. I believe the WiFi Assist is causing the Exchange issues. WiFi Assist is automatically turned on when users upgrade to iOS 9. I disabled WiFi Assist and I have not encountered any more Exchange issues. Will continue to monitor.

SInce Apple does not monitor any of these forum posts, why isnt everyone on this thread contacting Apple for support and to file a bug report?

As a software architect myself, unless an issue receives enough activity in the bug tracking system Apple's developers won't know about it or will but won't be tasked by management to resolve it because there are other issues people *are* complaining more loudly about.
