My iPhone stops playing music when taking photos?!

HI there...

My iPhone 6S seems to stop playing music both from iTunes or Spotify when I open the camera to take a photograph. I assumed there would be some obvious way to allow it to continue playing. It's a bit annoying to be honest! I just want to continue listening to my music whilst taking photogrsphs...

I can't find anything on the web... Or on here... Can't find anything on the phone... It didn't happen with my iPhone 5...

If anybody knows anything or has any idea if this is actually a design feature or just annoying I'd appreciate any advice!

So agree. Currently the most annoying issue with my phone. Love taking photos, why turn the speakers off, takes part of my inspiration away...!

JJust got off the phone with support and they promise the bug fix will be included in the release coming up on September 13th.

Fingers crossed. This drives me crazy!!

I can confirm that IOS 10 does in fact fix the broken camera. I am happy about this, but still very disappointed that it took over a year, and Apple support staff just shrugged when this is brought up. Kinda feel sorry for them. These decisions were made well above their pay grade. I'm looking at you Tim.

FINALLY. FIXED. Downloaded iOS 10, and finally, finally, FINALLY it is fixed. Opening camera app while playing audio does NOT mute audio.

My iPhone's usefulness has multiplied 100x with this fix!

They fixed it!

I can take photos with the "native" iPhone cam without my music shutting off.

Tried with both Music and Spotify.

Even works with LivePhotos active.

My fellow iPhone users I have found a very solution to this problem, you don't need any fancy apps just open your camera using the Facebook app and it will record while playing music and the video will not be posted on facebook but it's will be saved on your device ..

try uisng the Facebook app, it won't stop your music it's will record while it's playing and It won't post it on Facebook, you can view the video in your photos
