iBooks keeps crashing after upgrading to iOS 9

I do have the same problem with iBooks on my iPad mini. It opens and after a few seconds it crashes.

I was having the same problem with my new iPhone 6s Plus and iOS9. I was able to download a book and its OK now. It seems I didn't have any books downloaded on the new phone. This helped me. Not quite sure how I downloaded that first book with it crashing so quickly... ;-) good luck.

Finally I could fix the problem. Opening iBooks and immediately deleting PDF files. Each time starting iBooks I could delete one PDF before iBooks crashed again. First I deleted the PDFs, which were not in my synchronization list. And after I had deleted this 5 PDFs iBooks is working fine.

I'm having the same problem on the iPad after installing the latest iOS9. At first it was crashing, now iBooks won't open at all. I have also tried re-booting the iPad twice with no results. iBooks continues to work find on the iPhone, just not on the iPad. BTW, I have an iPad 3rd generation with wifi.

I had the similar problem with iPhone 6s and iOS 9.2.1. - iBooks closed itself in 3 seconds after opening the app. Resetting and restarting did not help.

I had some books previews (PDF) and after reading this thread, I went to iBooks to delete them, but after selecting the "thumbnail view" (upper right corner), these PDF's disappeared after few seconds. No more crasching after that.

I hope this works also for somebody else.

I'm running 9.2.1. on an iPad2. Same problem, doesn't even reach the bookshelf.

But what seems to help me - that is to say iBooks will start in about three tries one after the other, instead of only after some seven tries in a row - is to switch off WiFi in the general settings.

I had this problem and tried the standard solutions - reset and/or turn off wi-fi. Neither worked. What worked for me was go to Settings - iCloud then iCloud Drive and turn off the iBook setting. Since then iBooks hasn't crashed once.
