iPhone 6S plus horrible speaker audio quality on Skype

Interestingly I'm having the same issue with the Bluetooth in the car. It is fuzzy/distorted same as the "skype on speakerphone" issue.

However at random times it is completely fine.

I have about 2 days to return this handset. Aaargh!!

i am having the same problem with my music apps. Slacker and Pandora. Music sounds flat with no bass.

OK, so a lot of people have this problem. Does anyone know of an iPhone 6s that does not have this problem?

I updated both the iOS and the Skype app. Now it works -- but the Skype mic and video buttons are messed up -- on is off and off is on.

REmember that Skype owned up to the software problem and promised an update. They issued the update. I updated. I also updated to iOS 9.0.2 around the same time.

What matters is that now it works.

I Used to have the problem . Skype issued an app update around the same time as Apple issued an iOS update. I don't know if one, the other, or both is the reason why the problem was resolved. I suggest you do both, and remember that the sound and video buttons are confused. Cheers!

So i am still facing the problem with facebook messenger and hangout apps! i tried playing The game of love by Daft Punk and have the same problem.

I have the same problem since the purchase of my 6S with Facebook messenger on loudspeaker and after lengthy discussions with Apple they had told me it is the Facebook app and To contact The app developers for Facebook to report this problem. This problem has been going on now for a month. my iPhone 6 it works perfectly, but on my new phone (6s) it is a serious problem and it seems to be many people with this new iPhone have this problem. A lot of my business runs through this app as well as my wife is in another country, I feel like throwing this phone at a wall!!! Apple and Facebook have not given a sign that anytime soon there will be a fix!

update the Facebook messenger app. The problem has been fixed at my end.

I faced the same problem. Whenever i was using facebook messenger and i turned speaker on, the sound was terrible but after installing iOS 9.1 and then an update from facebook, the issue resolved.

You need to download the latest Skype update from the AppStore on your phone.

Skype issued an update several weeks ago that fixed the problem for me.

They also just today (Oct 28th) issued yet another update -- I'm downloading it right now and I hope it doesn't mess it up again!

HI, I have the same problem on all phone calls in my Iphone 6S Plus with IOS 9.1. The sound quality from the earspeaker is horrible when making phone calls. I have now already 4th Iphone 6S Plus and they all have had exactly the same issue. First one was tried to be fixed at Apple service. They even changed the earspeaker but no change in the sound quality. I have changed a new SIM card from the same operator, no change. I have tried a SIM card from other operator, no change. It seems to be the problem is not in the earspeaker itself as the voice recorder plays flawless sound via earspeaker. The problem has to be somewhere in the phone functionality - either software or hardware. Both Iphone 5S and 5C do not have any problem with the same SIM card and they have a perfect sound quality.

When I have called Apple support they said they have not heard earlier anything about this problem. It sounds really strange as the sound quality in all of these 4 phones have been identical and below any standard. Many people have been complaining about this since IOS 8.3 in Iphone 6 and the problem still exists in IOS 9.1 with Iphone 6S and 6S Plus. APPLE PLEASE DO SOMETHING!
