Contacts not syncing with Hyundai bluetooth

This may or may not be an iPhone problem.

It seems that ever since updating to iOS 9 my contacts no longer syncs through the Bluetooth to my Hyundai sound system. This has worked flawlessly up until now and everything else (streaming, phone calls, etc.) works just fine.

I don't really expect a fix but was wondering if anyone else has experienced this or know what to look for.

The settings in the Elantra Bluetooth connection on my iPhone are set to sync contacts.

This happened to me a few weeks ago and I have been trying to figure out why. I have owned my car 5 years and never experienced a problem in the past. I have tried deleting and pairing my phone, rebooting the phone, and even went to my Hyundai dealership for help. Two service reps worked to sync my contacts for about 1/2 hour and they couldn't make it work either. I'm really frustrated and unlike you, expect at least an explanation and would sure like a fix. This is very frustrating!!!!!!!!!!!

I am having the same problem with my 2014 Acrua MDX was woking fine until I upgraded Iphone 2 months ago.

Dod the most current upgrade and still a problem. It si uploading but only through my A's in my contact list ( about 20 contacts) then it stops importing. It is paired and is working partially-- Can I get help with this or is there an upgrade fix coming?

This does not work. I have tried it repeatedly with contact sync on and off initially, soft booting the phone and restoring to factory settings the car.

This just started happening suddenly with no iOS system upgrade this week; it worked perfectly up until now.

I contacted Hyundai (ours is a 2013 Sonata) about an upgrade and they claim not to have one, although upgrading the GPS may improve things ($175 US)

I have a 2013 Sonata & an iphone 6. The contact list from my phone shows up on the Sonata navigation screen & I can use it to dial out calls (the screen will show that I am calling "Dad.") Whenever a call comes into the car, it doesn't use my contact list. The call will show the phone number but instead of (310) 444-5555, the number on the screen looks like this: 13-104-445555. I have deleted & added the phone back. I have done a complete factory reset on my iphone (that one took 3 hours to reload everything & did nothing.)

The biggest problem is that when a call comes in, you look at the screen, can't figure out who is calling you & you spend too much time looking at the screen & not at the road you are on!

I have found with my 2012 Sonata Hybrid that I face a similar situation at times. While I have custom ringtones for my family contacts, it doesn't really matter as much. Have you updated the software in your Sonata system lately? I did mine not too long back and it seems it started then. It is almost as if you have the country code in your contacts that the audio system has trouble interpreting it. I've been testing the system, and if I find any further thoughts or solutions, I'll post them.
