Shortcut sidebar

IS it possible to remove the shortcut sidebar in safari?

IF you are talking about the bookmarks window that opens on the left when you tap on favorites or tap on something in the toolbar favorites, no yoy can not eliminate that window from appearing. If you tap the blue bookmarks icon after the window opens, that will make it go away.

IF you use the iPad in portrait mode, it will disappear on its own.

IF you swipe left in safari as if going forward a page then a shortcut bar appears on the right side with mail, FaceTime, clock etc.

I Want to remove it if possible

IF you are talking about this..ll when you tap on the Safari window on the left side again, that should go way. That is part of the new iOS 9 multitasking feature. If you want to turn it off go to Settings>General>Multitasking>Allow Multiple Apps>Off.
