How to Remove Advanced Mac Cleaner Virus

I have just noticed on My Macbook Air that window pop up on my Macbook Air apps Advanced Mac Cleaner and inform me that its start to scan my Mac and save my Macbook from errors.

Last night my younger brother was used my Macbook Air and i suppose accidentally he was installed this utility. Is it good for my Mac or should i uninstalled it right now. Because scan is complete already and its shows me 1389 Errors on my Macbook Air. Should i purchase this tool full version or remove it. because on other discussion thread on apple website here i just noticed that everyone share their bad experience and recommended to uninstall. Advanced Mac Cleaner is fake virus utility. What to do now. Should i remove these 1389 errors or uninstall it

I downloaded and installed malwarebytes. Had to run the scan, clear the quarantine, empty the trash and restart my MacBook Pro twice, but it finally got rid it. Here's the link: Malwarebytes | Free Cyber Security & Anti-Malware Software

Re: Remove Mac Cleaner instructions . this is all well and good but one thing Ive learned is not to click on links that I don't know. So heres my question; Why can't you give instructions that take me through the operation on my Mac without clicking a link? I had only downloaded Flash and Skype (new Mac) so I think I know where where it came from. I see the application icon. Why can't I just trash it? Im a new Mac user and wonder if theres a way to see who the culprit is that snuck it in. on windows I can go to control panel and delete the downloaded program lock stock and barrel why all the contortions?

You need to ask yourself why you came to this forum in the first place. If you feel that it was a wise thing to do, I agree. The people here are hugely knowledgeable about Apple and the systems it operates.

If they recommennd a course of action you can be pretty sure it is sensible. Others would very quickly put the matter to rights otherwise. Have faith.

Do not do anything with the pop ups, they're fake. The problem I'm having is removing it from my macbook. When I open my browser it's not my normal browser/favorites etc. It looks like a generic google search bar. When I search for something it pops up briefly to feed. chunck. app (spaces placed there on purpose) I had followed a link from my professor for class, and it redirected me to what looked like adobe, and said i needed a flash update, and then this mac keeper popped up. After that it's been saying I have problems, that I know I do not. So if I find a way to remove it, I'll share it here, but I've been looking for 24 hours now. Missing assignment dates and all, because I don't know what this thing can track or do with personal info, so I'm trying to stay off of important sites while on my laptop. If you find answers, please share.

Just to clarify, the "old" link that was posted by me and in another thread will still take you to the proper place and there is a link on the page informing visitors of the name change. 😉

I'm aware of that. However, I don't see much point in posting a link that will take you another link. So, to clarify for anyone else who might be reading, I posted the current name and current link.
