iPhone 6s Plus battery percentage getting stuck

My iPhone 6s Plus battery percentage gets stuck frequently. Like for example, it will say 87% all day, and then I'll plug it in for an hour, and it will still say 87%.

The only fix I've found is to power the phone off and then turn it back on. Then the percentage will update correctly, and will usually continue to update properly for awhile. But eventually it gets stuck again.

In the 3 days since it was delivered on Friday, I've had to reboot my iPhone 6s Plus at least four times to fix this issue.

I'll jump on board - I'm having the same issues as everyone else. Only, I don't play any games on my phone so I haven't messed with the date and time for extra lives. I thought it was related to Facebook issues with the App running in the background so I deleted Facebook. Nope, that doesn't fix the problem as the battery will get stuck while charging and then will jump up after I unplug it. The same thing will happen with the battery being "Stuck" on 100% for a long time, up words to 30 or 40 mins with heavy txt usages before starting to drop quickly. I'm also on the most recent iOS 9.1 and have turned off most settings that contribute to battery draining. I.E. the 3D effects of the screen, auto app updates, background app refresh etc etc. Nope, doesn't fix it.

I was thinking of going to my Apple store to swap the phone but apparently based on this thread that doesn't help. I appear to have the better A9 (non-Samsung) processor too. So, I dunno, I guess I'll call Apple just to add onto this ever growing issue and hope they fix it.

You would think with the number of people complaining about the same issue Apple would have found a fix. Hope someone out there comes up with a solution or Apple gets on the stick. I like you am not a gamer and don't even have any downloaded and really just use it for phone call, texting and checking E-mails. Thanks for jumping on board!!

i am also one of those being affected under the "battery indicator stuck" customer and i am using the original cable and adapter that comes with my 6s plus. below are things i have done so far. holding home and power button until iphone turn off and restart itself and it did not solve the problem. letting battery drain itself until turned off by itself then recharge back to 100% and it did not work. restore phone and set up as new, did not work as well. now i am waiting on the new update of the ios before going to apple store to swap the phone. i never changed my date or time if anybody wonders.

PS. everybody should send a feedback to the apple technical team so they would be more aware of the Battery Indicator Stuck problem instead of having to restart the stupid phone every one or two day. below is the link.

Exactly the same with me!

My iPhone 6s battery percentage will getting stuck if i put charging on airplane mode with screen sleep, like when my battery on 41% i plug in for charge and enabling the airplane mode and then we know that the screen going to sleep itself (based on my autolock settings set to 1 minutes), after that for the next 15 minutes the battery percentage will only always showing stuck on 41% !!

BUT when i put the screen always on (not to sleep, i go to settings and set the autolock to 'Never'), the battery percentage will updates like normal.

HI im on my third 6s plus 128g with the same issue. Charged this phone last night display was 15% woke up this morning still 15% grrrr turned on and off shows 100%. I can't go through the stress of getting a 4th one. It's costing me a fortune with phone screen protectors. I reckon within a month I've had 3 phones with the same issue n spent over £100 trying to get one that doesn't have the issue. Unfortunately I do play candy crush but surely a sophisticated phone shouldn't have any battery issues. I've been told loads of rubbish like I'm confusing it by charging at 15% i should wait until is 0% but this seems rubbish to me all other iPhones I've had I charge the battery when I like it shows its 100% battery life. Come on Apple there's an issue here please please fix it!

So here's an update of my 6s 64GB. I've drained and recharged the battery on my phone twice since my last post. The indicator problems no longer exist...for now. I've exclusively used my Monoprice Luxe cable for charging also. Granted, I haven't messed with the clock for my games since then. Just thought it was worth mentioning to everyone to drain and charge all the way up a few times.

Still waiting for Apple for the next update to rid this issue forever though.

The only thing that fixed the issue for me was to stop changing the date/time.

I'm not going to mark as resolved though, because Apple should fix this. None of my previous iPhones or iPads exhibited this behavior. It's a bug and I hope they fix it soon.
