my iphone 5 battery percentage show 96 percent while charging but when i unplug and again plug in the charger the battery shows a full 100 percent.....it happens above 95 percent only...can somebody help??

Percentage of charge is a best guess based on cell voltage, current draw and voltage drop.
Don't worry about it. You are not having a problem.
but my battery drains above 95 quickly on standby like from 98 -96 in 15 minutes of standby
You will have to drain the phone battery completely. This will cause the calibration to be reset on the battery percentage.
If you are getting a days use out of a charge, or what you think is reasonable, then don't worry about the percentage.

when the charger is connected when the battery has 95% or more, it will not start charging anymore, when you connect a charger when below 95% it will start charging and stop at 100%.
Today's batteries are not like the previous ones where to start charging at odd times led to a depletion of the battery charge ... or the limit of charging possible. Read what colleague LexShellings says, that answers the question.

The actual percentages can vary according to the means used. No monitors are 100% accurate. I have found similar incidents and just ignore them; the amount is insignificant. There is nothing wrong with your battery or the monitor.

And have you plugged it in again since this reading. If it shows 91% than that is fine. You can put it on charge if you wish to top it up. I rather think you are paying too much attention to this; better to live with it for a while.

No:
that 91% is the max capacity of the battery compared to the original (when new) design capacity.
The percetage in the menubar is the perntage charge os the actual total capacity.
The two have "nothing" to do with each other.
BTW: to avoid communication issues, do not connect the charger whenat 95% or ohigher, wait to the battery is below 90% (to be sure) then let it charge as long as you want.

ya i agree with you..... but can using a non apple charger be the reason behind this coz i have been using galaxy s advance charger for 1 month coz my original charger got misplaced..and the samsung charger carries 0.7 A of current
