IOS 9 and GPS - are there issues?

Since upgrading my iPhone 6 to IOS 9 (and ultimately IOS 9.0.1 I have experienced issues with my GPS. I use Motion X GPS while in the car and up until the change to IOS 9 it has been reliable and rarely (if ever) dropped out even in the centre of cities. Now I have the situation where it takes quite a while to acquire GPS satellites and the connection breaks after a few minutes / miles and a reboot of the program is required to re-acquire a GPS Satellite signal only to drop out again a few minutes later. Has anyone else experienced this or is it a fault with Motion X GPS?

I have exactly the same problem in Waze and GoogleMaps, and in Compass (iOS 9.0.2, 5S). Interestingly Strava seems unaffected. I took the advice on this thread and submitted a bug report at the feedback link. Hopefully they will squash this one with 9.1 or 9.1.1. I would like to have my speedy, crisp and accurate navigation back - I need it!

As others have reported, IOS 9.1 did not fix the issue. Looks like a return to Apple is called for. Meanwhile I will submit feedback again to the Apple website flagging up the continuing issue. However I'm not sure that it is a hardware problem because my GPS seemed to be fine under IOS 8.

I too have had a long chat with Apple Support resulting in a reset of all the iPhone settings (which caused some problems with a code generation app that needed to be reactivated). I'm not sure if it did anything as I haven't had the opportunity to field test yet. Most of Apple's chat (which it failed to save - convenient!) centred around MotionX GPS not issuing an IOS 9.x update. However both WAZE and Runkeeper have updated their apps and I have not noticed an improvement.

I am going to try to swap my phone but I'm not sure that is possible here in Bolivia (no Apple Store)

I have and Iphone 6. Same GPS / wi-fi problem here after upgrading to 9.x. Last version didn't solve the issue. Nothing helped: hard reset, hard reset while localization is deactivated, restore and then blank install as new iphone. I called apple support and there's no solution. I also followed your lead and reported the bug. :-/
