honestly, what is most amazing is how after all these pages of reports that a 91.b4+ will fix and end the problems, users will continue to simply blame apple for the problem with a release version of software..

how hard can it be to simply understand that this is a software issue, corrected with a beta version of software (that is readily available and easy to install) and will be corrected for ALL users once 9.1 comes out officially?

So you know for certain that 9.1 beta 4+ fixes everyone's issues (even though I've read post they say it doesn't for all)? Also that Apple aren't to blame for putting out buggy software?! And every consumer should know they can install beta software to solve the issue...although beta software can create other issues. It will be very interesting to read the notes on Apples official update.

So far for me personally since resetting all settings I've not had the black screen lockup again...yet.

No, probably not all customers since they would most likely not have any understanding of this issue,,

but certainly those customers, who come to one of these forums and read 19+ pages of reports, where the overwhelming majority of testers (subjective guess at over 90% if not higher) have had THIS issue and the hot home button issue corrected with this update since 91.b4+ without any additional reported problems.

that I would expect.

Honestly, what is amazing is for you to trivialize this issue and expect that people install a beta on their phone to fix this issue. While it is happening it is very inconvenient and Apple should get an update out to fix it; especially when it is causing people to over sleep in the morning because their $1000 pocket computer shut off in the middle of the night.

I am more than capable of installing the beta but I will not put a beta on my everyday phone. You can mess with your data but I refuse to, I don't care how stable you feel it is. I shouldn't have to risk data loss, and have to waste my time installing the beta on my phone just so it can work like it should. I had it happen to me four times yesterday. It is down right f@$%ing unacceptable, and needs to be fixed.

Has 'everyone' taken the time, little that it takes, to a) send comment & feedback to Apple, b) call Support, and maybe most importantly, open a bug ticket at bug report.apple.com (where they will actually review, look at the logs, have engineering access)?

Our best change to ENSURE that this is being addressed is to make sure Apple understands the impact it's having.

Same issue - IPhone 6s Plus 128 GB phone - probably does this every couple of days now, had it happen 3 times in one day . Home button definitely getting hot, sometimes its hot when I notice it and have to do a hard reset, other times whilst doing the hard reset the button gets hot, and it gets hot very quickly.

only ever run IOS 9.02 on it so cannot comment if it would have been a problem before the upgrade. no issue with my Ipad mini 2 running IOS9.02 though thats not exhibited this behavior at all

Quite frankly there have not been reports of data loss or corruption on the 9.1 beta. If you concerned about data loss, make sure you are backing up to icloud or whatever your backup solution is and that shouldn't be an issue.. in the event that the unexpected occurs a restore from backup should get one back up and running in 15 minutes. or just live with the phone crashing unexpectedly till the official 9.1 release comes out.. which in the end is simply another release which could of course have other problems. Very few releases of any software even official GM are 100% issue free.

Seems like app updates is one of the causes of getting stuck screen and restarting on my iPhone 5. Not sure if that is the only cause. But during app updates which I run manually my iPhone gets stuck often and restarts. I'm not sure how auto updates work, but if auto updates happen when phone is plugged in may explain why some of you are seeing a restart at night while recharging the phone. This is all just speculation. Hopefully the next ios update will fix this.
