FCP 7 and El Capitan?

Has anyone tested if FCP 7 works with El Capitan?

Cheers

In order to get FCP 7 to work on El Capitan. You need to do the following...

1. Move Motion 5 out the of Applications folder. (Don't delete it, as you'll move it back in)

2. Have Motion 4 installed (Change the name of the App to Motion 4 once installed)

3. Move the following files inside the Components folder to another folder. (don't delete "Components" folder)

a. Go to System Hard Drive/Library/Audio/Plug-ins/ and Create another folder called "Components (not used)" or something equivalent.

b. Move files inside System Hard Drive/Library/Audio/Plug-ins/Components/ (when you move files press Command Key to actually move them, and not copy them).

Note: Also you will get a dialog to put in your admin password while moving the files.

c. Start FCP 7, and it should now open up.

Notes:

You won't be able to use Motion 4 stand alone or with FCP 7, as it won't work with El Capitan, but yo can certainly use FCP 7.

There may be other instabilities, but at least you can open you projects, create an XML file, and then use 7toX for Final Cut Pro App http://assistedediting.intelligentassistance.com/7toX/

4. If you want to go back using FCP X move the Motion 5 App back into the Applications folder, and put all the files above back into the "Components folder" by pressing the Command key while moving the files. (once again the command key moves the files as opposed to copying them.)

Hopefully this helps.

Cheers.
