Is anyone else having the issue of your Mac running wicked slow after the new El Capitan update? Word, Safari, Preview, and iTunes wouldn't open- they froze and I had to force quit them. Even typing this there is a major lag and the pinwheel appears. What's up with that? So far I hate how slow it's making my mac.
I just purchased the 2.7 GHz intel Core i5 Mac Book Pro with the El Crapitan update about (30 hours ago). Man I have to say, I am unimpressed. I have been a loyal Apple customer since 2007 and have or had just about every new product that they have come out with, but this computer is slow and seems unconfident in pursuing operations. I could have bought a Windows PC for less money to get this kind of mediocre speed on a computer. I am only using this computer for simple personal use only, Thank God. Apple, Please fix this Update and return to the high quality speed and reputation that is APPLE.
Did you not bother to try before you buy, there are things called Apple stores where you can look before purchasing something, and if you have purchased less than 14 days ago, you can take it back for a refund. Don't complain, act.

Try Using Activity Monitor in utilities, Activity Monitor-view-Run System Diagnostics. it will remove problem causer, I tried it on my mac mini 2012 it worked

I just ran the diagnostics, and it then left me a whole page of file names, and no clue as to what it determined, much less how I can fix it, or if running it alone fixed anything. So how did it remove your problem-causer?
I wrote a second reply by mistake, and it seems there's no way to delete it, and it wouldn't let me leave it blank. Come on Apple, we should be able to delete our own post!
Only the hosts can delete posts. Next time you make an oops post, erase the post and put a period . in it. That is enough to let it post.
Diagnostic moves problem causer to tmp folder, then I restarted compute free memory back to 9 1/2 gb, now I can play a movie without hesitation
