Mac Pro keeps logging out since El Capitan

Upgraded my Mac Pro to El Capitan, all went well. I logged in, then logged into iCloud and that also went well. But then it crashed with a kernel panic, restarted OK.

It now is running OK but after a few minutes it will log me off and back to the password prompt. Very frustrating and not able to work with it in such very short windows of time.

Anybody else seeing this?

My big box has two GT120 cards. Monitors= 2 Samsung 26", 1 Ausus High Def 30", and one 22.5" "something else" with dual link DVI. You did not indicate how many monitors on your cards. The 5770 is at least $200, so that is more than I will pay to "upgrade", especially with the marginal operational improvement that EC provides. EC runs fast on my 13" MBA i7 (2013), but not so fast on my mid 2010, 21.5" iMac with 3 ghz i3. Big Box 3.1 MP has 8 core and 12 gigs, but is currently really bogged with Yose. Enough to rate the title of "current POS". It is geeked at 50% faster than the MBA, but reality is the MBA is outperforming the Big Box. Go figure.

I'm prepared to declare victory ... how about you?

Installing the third version of the beta of OS X 10.11.2 that was released on November 11 made all the difference. The only way to stay logged in since El Capitan was released on October 1 was to keep my hands off the controls so the cursor stayed stationary ... not very productive. After installing the 3rd version of the beta all is well ... just like it was under Yosemite.

Unfortunately, the only solution for now is to be running beta software, which comes with additional risks, not to mention the hassle of registering as a beta tester with Apple, downloading and installing beta software and hoping no new problems are introduced.

I have EC installed on a separate drive and booted it last night, updated the OS and then updated the NVIDIA drivers and it worked for over two hours. Config:

Mac Pro 3.1

2 x NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT with 2 Monitors on each card.

I can't afford to lose time during the day so using Yosemite for Production work during the day. I'll try it again tonight and over the weekend and if it works ok I'll use for my production again. But it looks like a real fix to me!

What monitors and how are they connected?

I think you have a different problem

I've been having the same issue since upgrading to El Capitan. Hoping for a solution, I've installed 10.11.2 Beta 3.

Within less than 5 minutes, another logout happened.

*sigh*

No hope for the solution yet.
