IPod Touch (16GB) (6th Gen) will not connect to Itunes

I just bought a brand new Ipod Touch 6th Generation 16GB Blue. I set up all of my settings and tried to sync the iPod to ITunes. It will not sync. I have a Windows computer. My ITunes is up to date and so is my IPod. I tried turning my computer and the device off and then back on. That Didn't work. I used a different USB port and cord. I know the computer is recognizing the iPod it's just that ITunes is not recognizing it. What do I do now?

iPod touch, iOS 9.0.2, null

What computer OS and version?

What version of iTunes?

If XP or Vista use one of these iTunes versions:

https://support.apple.com/kb/DL1614?locale=en_US

iTunes 12.1.3 for Windows (64-bit)

If Win 10 try:

iTunes: Fix iPhone or iPod Not Detected in Windows 10

Otherwise:

iPhone, iPad, or iPod not recognized in iTunes for Windows

- I would start with

Removing and reinstalling iTunes and other software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8

- Then do the other actions of:

iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows

paying special attention to item #5

- New cable and different USB port

- Run this and see if the results help with determine the cause

iTunes for Windows: Device Sync Tests

- Try on another computer to help determine if computer or iPod problem
