Hold on for the 10.11.2 update, I have a feeling the issue may get resolved!

Installed the new nvidia drivers and it fixed the issue with crashing when stabilising/optical flow but FCP is now crashing repeatedly and immediately when dragging through footage at the beginning of the timeline making it basically unusable. It's definitely nothing to do with third party apps, kind of ridiculous that apple won't even acknowledge there's an issue.

Did you trash your preferences?

yeah, no improvement at all.

YYou either have to reinstall the app or there's a problem with the media or where it's stored I guessing.

I had the same issue after updating to 10.11.1 & updating the NVIDIA drivers - the analysis crashing was resolved, but FCPX started crashing when doing basic things on the timeline.

As I mentioned previously, I have a feeling this may possibly be fixed in the 10.11.2 update. So hold tight!

I Had the same issue after nvidia updated the driver, I found installing the first update for 10.11.1 fixed the crashing during playback.

if you're crashing when trying to turn on stabilization, the os x 10.11.2 update fixes this

Great news - The latest update from Apple on OSX 10.11.2 resolves the stabilisation crashing bug in FCPX.

Not in my case. Working on a 2013 iMac. Complete fresh install, the finder kept crashing after 10.11.2 update. FCP crashes immediately after adding text....

Trashed the prefs. No luck. Have to finish a project on a macbook now.....

I also installed the update and now im having new problems. I ingest footage, the app hangs and I restart to continue my project. Only on start up there is now record of the footage. I can see the project size has increased and if I go show package contents the footage is there but some how FCP is not picking it up.

All I have to say at the moment is that Apple making my life un-bearable. My system was working perfectly and didn't need anything else. I was prompted to upgrade to El-Capitan and promised better performance and more ease of use. Since my upgrade I have had multiple crashes and off-line media in projects that worked fine before and performance has gone out the window. The only reply I get from Apple is that it must be my third party plugins when the only thing that's changed is the operating system. Ive worked in FCP since going to film school 10 years ago and never even had any problems. I don't know what you guys' are going there lately but it definetly isn't working. My problem is where to go from here?

WWhen the OS updates third party plugins have to be updated. Most on them have been with 10.11.2. There still might be some that aren't. Assumed you've trashed preferences and tested on a clean user.

I have had similar issue with it locking up just moving around the timeline and editing text with stock FCP "Centered" Text. I have to force quit and then restart FCP. This should be very simple stuff and was before the upgrade but now it is wasting precious time. I have only one FX Factory with a couple purchased FX and it is up to date. I have also noticed that I get his strange look to my render/timecode/audio window. It is out of alignment (HH:MM:SS:FR not positioned under the right numbers) and has strange artifacts in it. attached is a photo

Any helpful solutions would be much appreciated.

Have you tried the new 10.2.3 update yet? If so, has this fixed your issue?
