iPhone 6s Plus shuts down randomly and hot home button

My iPhone 6s Plus has shut down randomly, 4x now, since I've received it on 9/25. The home button gets very warm, unusually hot even, when trying to restart the phone after it shuts off. It takes a few tries before it turns back on and for the home button to cool off. I paid $900+ after taxes for this latest and greatest iteration of the iPhone 6s Plus 64gb. My iPhone 6 Plus (sitting in my drawer) and previous iPhones didn't have this issue.

Very poor consumer experience for approx. a $1000 phone. Very dissatisfied.

btw - in the [Select a Category] section when submitting a question, iPhone 6s or iPhone 6s Plus isnt even an option. Y'all need to update your site for a better user experience.

its only been a week and my 6s has shut down twice for no reason, haven't noticed the home button hot though but the only way to switch back on is to hold home and off button for 10seconds. This is worrying as I rely on my phone as an alarm.

Had the same symptoms where I thought my battery was dead, no home button or power button response. Had to "hard reset" with both home and power button at the same time. Managed to get this photo with my thermal camera showing there definitely was a temp difference on the button....

This happened to me overnight and I missed my alarm..... I contacted apple care and asked if it was a hardware or software issue... They couldn't tell me and said it was not a issue yet there was hundreds of posts about it. I eventually scheduled a genius appointment. I went there and wasted like 20mins waiting and then was able to get my phone tested.. Nothing was found wrong with my phone.. Don't waste your time going to genius bar... Most likely a software issue and if hardware hopefully a recall once they admit there is a problem...

In a different post, I stated the same thing about Apple's response. I called because the nearest store is an hour away and I don't want to drive there to get there and they do nothing or not have a replacement phone. When I called which was 10/5, Monday, the guy I spoke with had never heard of the problem, even though there are news articles, and told me to make a Genius appointment; he was flippant about the issue. Couldn't give me any good advice. Said it was not a software issue and that an update wouldn't fix the problem. There are two Apple Stores "near" me and they both are so jammed with appointments that I couldn't get one until Saturday. Unfortunately I work weekends and could not go, but now I'm glad that I didn't waste time going!

Super lame. Has only happened to me twice though. So random.

I have this happen to me twice. I called support and they never heard of this problem??? Give me a break. You need to plug the phone into a power source and hard start it. It immediately cooled off. Hope this is not a fire hazard. Closest store is 2 hours from me. Poor customer service. They should be recalling these phones and replacing them.

My iphone 6splus and my wifes 6s shut down a lot and get really hot... power drains fast sometimes they dont charge... im hoping the phone explodes so i can let apple talk to my attorneys as this is my first snd last iphone ill ever own. Glitches and bugs have plagued it and now battery issues are getting worse and it just turned 1 year old.
