El capitan freeze during install

I Have the same problem that it gets to 90% and freezes, fans running overtime! I have tried to start in safe mode but I have no chime when starting up, it just goes straight back to 90%...

Reboot from an external disk! I too was unable to restart exactly like you, so I reboot from an external disk. Try it. it works!

This helped me so much! The only amendment I would make is that safe mode boot I held the shift down inbetween the startup noise and the apple logo. The command -R takes you to recovery mode.

Your procedure worked for me too! Thanks. Only issue is to boot in safe mode is shift, and it takes a long time to boot up so patients is required. Thanks again.

Where and how do i manage these files? How do i access them?

all those installers require you to have a working battery AND to connect the power adapter.

My other pro, identical to this one, had no battery in it at all and it updated to El Capitan...

the progress bar moved over by about 1mm and stopped

That could be an indication that your boot Drive stopped responding, and may die at any moment.

¿Do you have a Trusted Backup?

Maybe you should consider starting a new thread for your problem if the solutions offered here don't work for you.
