Question

App Store vs iTunes vs Apple ID, vs iCloud"

Is the password I use for signing into the App Store the same password as for iCloud? Since being prompted to make the iCloud email address upon getting my first iPhone a few years ago, I have never had to sign into anything iCloud specific (that I know of).

Now I want to sync my calendar to the Outlook App on the iPad and I think I have to add the iCloud account & I don't know what password to use. (Their instructions are sorely lacking)

I Really don't understand the difference between my accounts and password and/or sign-in credentials at: App Store vs iTunes vs Apple ID, vs iCloud

Surely I can't be the only one whose mind is befuddled with these concepts. Much thanks to whomever can provide clarification on this topic.

There are several services that you sign in for such as iCloud, iTunes & App stores, Messages, FaceTime and iBooks, you use your Apple ID and password to sign into each.

Most people only have one ID and use it for every service. This is what Apple recommend.

Based on your answer, I Understand that one Apple ID and its corresponding password is used for everything Apple.

I have an Apps for: iTunes & App Store & FaceTime & iBooks & Messages & FaceTime

No App for iCloud, is it something I am supposed to be able to access? ( Please forgive my ignorance on this matter! ). Thanks.

There is no app as such for iCloud, but you can sign in at settings > iCloud on your device. this will enable you to use space in the cloud for syncing things like contacts, calendars, documents, photos, notes etc between all your devices.
