Since upgrading to El Capitan, Microsoft Outlook will not remember it's window size after I close and reopen, or quit and restart the program.
This problem did not occur with any previous operating systems.
Please help....

On my iMac 5k retina, in addition to the window shrinking issue, the reading pane in Outlook 2011 also disappears.

The latest update for Microsoft Office 2016 seems to have fixed the problem for Outlook. At least for now after I have installed the update yesterday and have closed an reopened the window for at least 50 times. Let's see if it stays that way. What is your experience?
Which version are you running ?
All apps updated to 15.20 yesterday apart from Outlook which is still on 15.19.1 ?
Same here, strangely. Still, it works since yesterday. At least I got many more opening already then ever before. Fingers crossed.
I am using Outlook for Mac 2011.
A Microsoft update became available a few days ago (14.6.2) and after updating both of my computers, the window size problem for Outlook still exists.
The size problem for Calendar also still exists.
So, for Outlook, I will continue to minimize instead of closing the window, and for Calendar I will continue to keep the Calendars side bar closed.
Those two work-arounds solve the problem until a fix is made.
But, I wouldn't hold my breath for that.
Still the same problem. So back to minimizing for me!
I'm hoping 10.11.4 may resolve this as it is system wide rather than just an Outlook issue. Saying that, why are other programs unaffected (safari/firefox etc)?!

Sorry to hear that. But since the latest Office Update the issue is resolved for me. Also after installing 10.11.4 yesterday night all is good. SO FAR, so good. We shall see.
Still not fixed in 10.11.4 and Adobe CC software like Photoshop and Illustrator. Open and save dialogue windows keep resetting to tiny size. What a shame …

Outlook for Mac 2011 ver. 14.6.2 window size problem still not fixed here either.
However, the Calendar issue may be OK. I have been leaving the Calendar List Sidebar open and the size problem appears to have been fixed. Will give it some more time.

Back to hiding the Calendar List Sidebar.
I see the same problem, and yes, hiding the list seems to fix it. Very quirky. I need that list showing so now it is the lesser of two evils to either resize every time or show/hide sidebar.
I updated Outlook to 15.21.1 yesterday - so far the window hasn't resized when closed. Fingers crossed!
