I have a copy of iWork 09 DVD which I acquired to install Pages on my MacBook Pro which has OS 10.9.5 (Mavericks). However, it won't install. How do I go about installing Pages on this computer? iWork has installed on my older MacBook with 10.6.8 with no problem. I'm keen to get Pages on my MacBook Pro, so advice very welcome. Thanks.

SmartwareDriveService and WDQuickView are not part of the OS X operating system. It looks like add-on drive vendor software that is unnecessary on OS X, and may be playing a disruptive role.
I'm just using the pages that came with the new MacBook Pro Yosemite. It does not even have a CD drive. It's limited but I would rather use pages than word. I transferred my old pages 2 and downloaded six and nine. When I control click, I tried to get on another version but it doesn't work well. I would like to do it the old-fashioned way and stay on the same screen without updating . Also it does not save my place when I close it- when I open it it goes back to the beginning of the document. I am almost ready to give up and go to word but I do not want to. Thanks
When you say that you downloaded 6 and 9, what is that supposed to mean?
I'm not sure if the numbers are right but those were the updates when I bought my new MacBook Pro. Pages is acting really weird and I might stop using it
