Severe memory leak detected in Latest Safari 9.0 update.

I have detected a severe memory leak in the new Safari 9.0 update, when using the the El Capitan new OS X.

Whenever, I just open Safari, w/o giving it any other commands, I use a program called Clean My Mac, the latest version of that, and it has a memory monitor, and includes a "fee up memory" function, here is what I am seeing below:

With the monitoring of my available memory from my installed 8 GB of Ram, Safari 9.0, will drain the memory from 6.15 GB available memory down to 14MB, without touching any mouse or key.

This for me explained why my late 2013 iMac froze on any other attempts to use any other programs.

I am turning off Safari and using Firefox with it's latest revision from now on, unless, Apple will admit to another gaff, and fix this latest issue!

If anyone has a solution, please let us all know.

From what I am seeing from other comments on this Safari Community, I am not the only one being affected by this problem!

iMac, OS X Yosemite (10.10.1), iMac 21.5, 2.9GHZ, I5 quad proc.

Everybody can relax now, as I have removed all the evidence of Clean My Mac from my iMac.

The jury has spoken, so who am I not to listen?

Alright guys, I'm new here.

I have detected the same issue in Safari. The interesting thing is that it was running fine for a few days after the El Capitan update. In essence, after probing the web the advice was in accord with what the general message is: remove Cleanmymac or similar. So I did that. I removed everything and anything even Avast. I am telling you, this is not the problem. Atleast, for me it has not changed the issue at all. I am with you, those programs are crap anyways, but whats going on ?? I am running a mid-2014 macbook pro and safari does not work. I start it up then i open activity monitor. Safari increases its memory usage exponentially. it capped out saying that it was using something like 20.4 GB. It doesn't freeze or hang whilte I use it, but i go to "Quit" and then the beach ball comes up. What is with this enourmous memory leak? any updates? really would like to figure this out.

I have not been willing to update to the El Capitan OS X, and after many discussions with the Apple Tech's, I have been operating as follows:

1) I restored my iMac to the Yosemite 10.10.5 version of OS X.

2) I updated the Safari browser to 9.0.1

3) I restored and updated my Clean My Mac program.

4) I did not restore my Norton Anti-Virus and this made the whole computer work more smoothly.

5) I use a Malware checker recommended to me by the Apple tech.

All of these actions have restored my computer to very smooth operation, with no memory leak problem.

I will not update to El Capitan until I see a pressing need to do so in how I use the computer.

I also, have found Safari to be a HUGE memory hog. I'll post up one of my results through Activity Monitor screen shot. Doesn't have any of my personal data ... but DOES show how much memory Safari can take from my 16G of hard wired memory. ALL other browsers take 1/4 or less memory given the SAME url tabs. On another note ... I've ALSO found where Apple squirrels away a HUGE amount of storage for iOS backups and DOES NOT delete any old files/folders no longer needed ... they can be found here ... "~Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup". I found mine had squirreled away over THIRTY Gigabyte of old data!! Enjoy ...
