IPhone 6s 128gb space gray lag after unlock

I have replaced my iPhone once already and am experiencing the same issue. My iPhone will lag for 2-3 seconds after I unlock it with Touch ID. It lags when I use the slide option as well. I have tried everything from setting up new, restoring from a backup, restoring through iTunes, and restoring through iCloud. Nothing seems to be doing the trick. The phone is amazingly fast once it is open, but that 2-3 second lag is very annoying. I never had this issue on my 6 so I am a little disappointed. I've talked to apple and verizon and both are saying they haven't heard of the issue yet. I know this issue has been brought up before on the threads, but has anyone found any new way to remedy the issue? I really don't want to swap phones again, but if this lag doesn't disappear I will be calling Apple Monday for a replacement.

Its not an issue with your phones hardware. Its iOS 9. You just have to wait until it gets fix in an update. Your replacement will be the same. I have both the 6S and 6S plus and have the same issue.

My phone still had the issue as of 9.2.1. I restored it as new again (I've done it atleast two dozen times) and was finally able to get it to work for the most part lag free. I know if I do a hard reset or install another update it could go back to working horribly in a second (this has happened four times now). Pretty sad when the software is that sensitive. I can't believe this issue hasn't been openly addressed. So many other issues that get publicly addressed pale in comparison to this one. Apple is not the company it used to be.

Hi guys, just got my iPhone 6s 128 GB space grey. It came with original iOS 9.1. So I updated it to 9.2.1 and then I restored the backup from my 5s 32 GB. So far, so good. I experienced the same lag everyone else has mentioned earlier. So I looked into Spotlight search and I disabled all apps except for mail, messages and whatsapp. When I unlock my phone now, it immediately responds, so it has surely something to do with the indexing features.

I know, this shouldn't be the case and is not what your are expecting, but it's a workaround. And personally, I don't want spotlight to index all the contents of my apps.

Hope this helps until 9.3 ;-)

I've seen this fix for some people, but for the majority it isn't that easy or quick. It's definitely a much bigger software bug (especially with this much variability in fixes/temporary workarounds). I think everyone this forum has seen their fair share of attempts and failures. It's amazing to me how this issue hasn't been addressed yet.

The blatant neglect Apple has for this issue is embarassing for them as a company. This issue has been around since launch day for thousands of people and they are just choosing not to do anything. I think it's just going to be one of those issues that persists until the new phone comes out. Rather than have a replacement program or actually develop a fix it seems like they are just going to ride it out. Superb quality we pay for

Some details I would like to share on this subject. My phone was working good with no lag. On Monday I decided to reset network settings because my battery usage and standby times were identical. I learnt through these forums that I had to make a network reset to fix this problem. So I did and the usage/standby times equality were solved, but that obviously required a phone restart. After the restart the lag was back again. I waited for days for the lag and disappearing status bar to vanish, but it did not happen. This is the list of the stupid things I did to make the phone get back to normal, none of them solved the problem:

- Remove the SIM card

- Perform a hard reset

- Change from LTE to 3G and back to LTE

- Disable all spotlight search

- Reduce motion

- Connect to iTunes through USB

- Delete email accounts

- Remove battery percentage

- Unisntall and install some apps

- Switch several of the background refresh options on to keep the phone busy most of the time

- Remove Touch ID

- Change the privacy settings

- ...

Funny though that after being bored of trying and getting to nowhere I downloaded a background image with the Papers.co app, went to Photos, set it as my background for both the lockscreen and the springboard and the lag was gone. Can you believe it? It makes no sense, during the lag days I changed the wallpaper tenths of times, and the problem was still there. I know that it won't work again if I ever restart the phone, there must be something I miss, but I wanted to share this.

On a side note, the usage/standby times are wrong again, they show the same times and they shouldn't, I don't know if t's related.
